We’ll be heading down to Disney World soon. We’re going to stop off at the Disney Hilton Head resort & finish our week on the Disney Cruise. Do these 2 places have internet access? And if so, is the charge $10 per 24 hours like the resorts?

We'll be going to HH for the first time next week, but I've heard on these boards that there is a dialup package that you could get. On the Disney Cruise, there is an Internet cafe and you can pay a flat rate for the whole time you are on board ship.

HH does not yet have any broadband options for internet connection.

There are a couple of local internet dialup providers - one is the local phone company (Hargray) and ISLC (Internet Service of the Low Country) is another. ISLC has a visitor's special rate- $10 for a week, Hargray is about $20 for a week. The ISLC service has pretty good dialup connections (I'm using it right now). You can reach ISLC at 1-843-770-1000 ext 251 (there is also a 1-800 #).

At HH all calls off the island are long distance- so be certain any ISP has a local access number. Local calls are $0.35 for members and $0.75 for other guests. Long distance calls have obscene service charges- so be sure that any calls you make from the room are local or 1-800.

Enjoy!

Hilton Head Resort is supposed to get WiFi by thanksgiving. I would guess the charge will be similar to WDW.

Enjoy your trip.

Edited to add: I forgot my laptop this trip -July1-7 at HH and needed some net time. I was able to go to the Library which was located on Beach City Rd and use a computer for a $2 charge.

You can also pay by in 15 minute blocks but you are better off with the flat rate ($40 on 3 and 4 night cruises, $90 for the 7 day cruise)---- service is sometimes a bit slow so you'll easily eat up time just trying to check e-mail.

The main internet cafe is by the Promenade lounge (on Deck 3 aft) and a lesser-used area in the Cove Cafe (Deck 9 forward).

If you are taking a computer they also have wi-fi hotspots in 10 locations for
$0.75 per minute, $55 for 100 minutes, $100 for 250 minutes, or $105 for 300 minutes (14-night cruise only).
