I've got a laptop from work that searches for wireless internet and has ethernet and dial-up capabilities. What will I need to do to go online in our BoardWalk DVC studio next March? Will I need to get a password from someone or is it just plug 'n go?

Thanks,

They do not have wireless. You will have to get the eternet cord from the bag in the closet and connect it to the outlet in the wall. Then boot up and open up the internet explorer. You will get a screen with conditions to accept and you should be online.

Yes we used it last month at BCV with no problems. Keep in mind you might want to watch your bill. If the charge appears on your bill just show the front desk your blue DVC member card and they will adjust it.

Do people renting points and staying at SSR get the same free internet service or is it only for members?

It is my understanding that it's the same for all and several posters on this forum in another thread have said this they rented points, hit the 'net and got no charge. I plan on setting up a webcam when we arrive and I'll stop by the desk the second day and check my tab then. Thanks for the replies.

And don't think you have to use IE. Firefox and Safari work just fine.

We used the internet in August and were thinking of bringing a portable wireless router on our next trip. Not sure if this will work but the cords are short and only one ethernet outlet. Have a good trip.
