International Gateway Entrance

This might be a dumb question, but if I am at Epcot at RD and want to ride a few rides and then go to my breakfast reservation at Trattoria al Forno at 10, will they let me out through the International Gateway even though the World Showcase isn't officially open yet? Or would have to take a bus to get around to the Boardwalk area?

They will let you use that gate to enter and exit just like the Maingate.

Just a little more info-there are ropes between Norway and China and France and Morocco until 11:00 AM.

Guests can walk from Norway around to France when Epcot opens at 9:00 AM.

This seems inconsistent. If there is a rope between Norway and China until 11:00, then one could not walk from Norway to France when Epcot opens at 9:00 (unless one goes under/over the rope or takes the long route from Norway to Mexico then through the plaza to Canada and then on to France by way of the English Channel).

Ahh. I read "Norway to France" as being the straight line path as opposed to the Magellan expedition.

That's what they meant, although it was worded kind of funny.

At 9:00 AM if you come in IG and turn to the right to try to go around the lagoon counter-clockwise you can only get as far as France. There is a rope up between France and Morocco preventing you from reaching Morocco and points beyond (Japan, AA, etc.). So going counter-clockwise Morocco through China is closed.

If you turn to the left from IG to go clockwise around the lagoon you can get all the way to Norway. Between Norway and China there is a rope up so you cannot get to China (or points beyond). So going clockwise China through Morocco is closed.

It's not that much longer than through the south part of WS.

That's fair. But I wouldn't waste time walking the Southern route at that hour either!
