International Gateway at EPCOT

Just a quick question...How long is the International Gateway open after the park closes?

I was wondering if I was having on the Boardwalk or at the Yachtman Steakhouse, how long do I have before they close that entrance/exit, so I can get a bus at the front of EPCOT back to my hotel.

I know it's open til 9:45. I THINK they told me it would be open til 10:00. I'm one of these people who doesn't like to leave right away after Illuminations. I just sit and watch all the people rushing by and I listen to the music. So I wanted to know how long I'd have.

Ask before you leave Epcot.

while they definitely let you leave Epcot through the IG for a couple of hours after they have closed - I don't know if they will let you back in.

besides the buses now only go to back to the resorts for an hour after the park closes. (they use to be 2 hours after the park closed)

you would probably be better off going to DD afterwards - if you really want to enjoy BW. the DD bus stops in front of the BW convention entrance.

but if you are staying at a WDW resort - security won't let you be stranded.

If you plan on eating anywhere in the Epcot hotel area you can easily catch a bus from the main entrance of any of the hotels....Boardwalk, Yacht club, Beach club, Swan and Dolphin. If it is too late for buses there are taxis available outside the same entrance. The CM on duty will get you one in no time at all. It would be a nominal fee to go to any other Disney resort via taxi.

Just remember buses don't run from hotel to hotel. So If you get a bus from BC it will not take you to your hotel. You will have to go to DTD or TTC to catch a bus to your hotel.

As far as I know, the International Gateway stays open until whatever the posted Epcot closing time is. (In all instances, I believe it's 9:00)
