International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert Reception?

Has anyone done the Grand Gathering event - International Dinner and IllumiNations Dessert Reception at EPCOT?

If so, what did it include and how did you like it? Would you recommend it for kids?

We're considering it for our December trip.

We are also doing a big family gathering in December and will have a few first timers! I am so excited! I also am wondering how this event is? Does anyone have feedback on this? I was thinking of doing the Candlelight Processional just prior to dinner (5:15 performance). We are arriving 12/17, departing 12/24. Is the safari activity better than the Illuminations dinner and dessert buffet???
