Interline rates and Castaway Club

I have just realised that Interline rates (rates for airline staff) are available for a cruise that I have had my beady eyes on for over a year. So I am seriously considering booking this. I just wonder what consequences this has as far as Castaway Club is concerned. Is there anybody here who has booked Interline rates on a Disney cruise before? Would this cruise count towards my Castaway Club level (at the moment we are two cruises away from Platinum)? Would I still get the stateroom gift? Would I still be invited to the Castaway Club reception? Any pointers are appreciated.

I sailed on an interline rate last year for the WBTA. My roommate was the airline person. All cruises count towards your castaway status I believe. Many of our cruises have been on military rates and they have all counted. You will get your castaway gift. The castaway club party is for gold and higher so if you are at least gold, you will get an invite to the event in your stateroom. :)

We sailed the Fantasy in June and never got an invite (Platinum)....and never saw it in the Navigator...don't know if I just overlooked it.

Thanks. It would not have a deal breaker if we would not have got the Castaway Club perks, but I was kind of hoping that we would. The price is just insanely low so it would be a shame not to jump on it. I am the airliner in the family.

No, it was never in the Navigator. We have sailed three times now as Gold Castaway Club Members (all three on the Wonder) and every time we got a letter the first night that had the date and time for the Castaway Club reception on it. However, so far we always sailed on a normal fare.

We were on the Fantasy in May on a regular rate and didn't get the Platinum invitation. It is not listed in the Navigator because it is considered a private party, by invitation only. We actually got the phone call reminder at 6 pm the day of the party--but the party had been at 11am that same day. I thought that we had somehow just been missed, but MJ's post makes it look like this may not be an isolated occurrence.

Yes, we have sailed on an interline rate and you get credit for CC club, CC gift, etc. We are Platinum. Sometimes we sail on the interline rate, and other times, we can't get it. There has been no difference in perks for an interline rate cruise than a non-interline rate.
Enjoy the discount!

Another interliner here - yup, you get the credit and all. You just need to make sure the agency you use (if you don't book direct through DCL) notes it on your reservation for you.

I'm glad to see some interline rates out there again. it seemed like they had dried up for a while!

Thanks. I will. As you probably know, the pay is not wonderful, but the perks are sure nice.

Again, thanks. This is the first time that I have spotted Interline rates on DCL and I have been on a few cruises that were far from fully booked. All of the Galveston cruises up to mid November seem to have Interline rates. I am dealing with Vacations to Go and will make sure that my Castaway Club Number gets attached to the reservation.

Oops, I just overlooked this when I replied. Is it possible to book through DCL direct and still get interline rates?

The Galveston cruises also have amazing military rates (MTO) in October for those eligible. The Oct 27th cruise has an even lower MTO rate, which is the one we just booked! There is also a GAL rate for that cruise (not even sure what that stands for) has a super rate for a cat OOT (1 bedroom) for families. 2 adults/2 children for $4552! I live here in Houston and most people that I have talked with that love to cruise don't even know Disney is sailing out of Galveston!

Hi Corrina! I am PMing you info on this.

PS - we've sailed several times together I think - just never crossed paths...recognize the name and location. :)

Hi! I am an airline person also but the interline rate came out after we paid in full! :( going to keep my eyes open for next year! :) does anyone know if we can book two rooms or only one?

Can you PM me the info too? DH is a pilot and I'm interested if we can get a rate for our cruise.

Thanks!

You can rebook to the Interline Rate if you really want. They cancel the old reservation - you forfeit the proper amount and then they credit the Interline rate. Many times it doesn't work out to your favor, but if sometimes it does. :confused3

Oh and you lose all of your activities, Palo, Port Adventures, Spa, etc...and have to rebook them - if they're available. So keep that in mind too. :scared1:

Sorry - forgot to answer your other question.

Sometimes you can book more than one room. Have to call DCL direct or work with an interline travel agent to do that. We have in the past...but had to pay for both rooms on our CC.

You can book two rooms with the interline rate. With Disney, the employee of the airline must be on ship. Too bad, cause I would be on a lot more cruises if I could book the interline rate w/o my hubby.
