Interesting WDW Half Review

oooh, now I'm all excited again, what's going to be special, I'm so glad I'm running both races to find out (if I ever run again that is......!). Oh and Robert, next time you talk to Jon, could you just get him to schedule Tigger just at the backroads of AKL for say 30 minutes at about 180 minutes into the full!!! I got Eyeore last year (cue weeping!), but am still missing the elusive orange one...

Pooh was out there in 06 if I am not mistakened. It may be his turn in 08

I have a pic with Pooh from 07, but he was in MK, not AK. Last year he was with PIglet, although dh swears he was not with a firend from teh 100-acres woods.

This year he was at teh exit to MK with Jasmine, Aladdin adn Cruella.

Grrrr.....Have no idea ewhy this is not a pic.

Chad has been doing the Disney marathon since '02. Every year we have the discussion about how Disney does less & less every year since then. According to Chad 2002 was his favorite year. They had Villians & Villian-type signs telling you that you couldn't do it, turn back now, etc. He thought it was hysterical - alot of runners complained about it.

But Chad has definately noticed a decline in "entertainment" each and every year (characters, signage, etc.).

Yet, we all still sign up for the next year...

I finally got nabbed into a photo at the Marathon outside AK with my buddy Mickey. I only wanted to take a pic of my DW but cast member insisted. 1st one in 5 races.

I had to put it on my main page when I made some changes to website format this past weekend!

"Go the distance" was up for the full, not the half --- in 2007.

I agree with above posts and I stated it earlier, the mile markers STINK! Bring back Disney mile markers, PLEASE!

Also, hit us w/ Disney tunes inside the parks! I have a great memory of running thru MK in 2005 to "I just can't wait to be king." This year, we ran thru MK to "Eye of the Tiger." BLAH!!! There are so many inspiring Disney songs that they could pipe in. Please..... (I carried my IPOD for the half and full and never listened to it. I never run without my music, it was strange but I was sufficiently entertained!)

You're right on teh tunes. I forgot. Probably, because they did not stink in my mind this year. Last eyar, I skipped my way through MK to COlors of the Wind and one that's on the tip of my brain.... It was great.

Thank god it was my first. Since I had nothing to compare it too, I have no choice but to think it was great.
The course - fine, exciting, flat
Signs - looked like signs. I was actually surprised they had one every mile.
Port-o-potties. I never waited more than 2 minutes.
Characters - I got pics with like 25 characters. Did miss Darth Vader, though.
Corrals - seems fair to me.
Long walk to start - If you are there to run a full or half, a mile walk should not be a big deal.

I can start my complaining next year when I notice a difference!!! Oh wait, the heat was a little much.
