Interesting update to Thom situation

His girlfriend (the one he met online who lives in Oklahoma and who basically led to the end of our marriage) told him the night before last that she is not going to leave her husband and come to Virginia for him as she had previously promised. It turns out that she feels he is too self-absorbed (one of my biggest complaints about him) and the relationship would never work out. I know that he's going to ask me for another chance pretty soon but I honestly am happier without him even though I adore our children and miss them when they are not with me. Any advice on how to remain friends without giving into the request I know he is going to make?

Now is your chance to make him eat his heart out.

Tell him that you don't want your heart to be broken again, so no more romance, but that you want to stay friendly for the sake of the children.

It's as simple as that. Let him chase you for a while if he's sincere about trying again; he may learn something that way.

Tell him exactly what you've told US. You dont want him back, but want to be on good terms for the sake of the kids.

Goofygirl, he already gave me the sad puppy dog face and the "I miss you" speech about two weeks ago. I just told him that I was sorry that he missed me and that I missed him sometimes too, but that the bad times outweighed the good. He promptly tried to blame that on me because I would not change my life so that my universe was centered around him. But, I know he's going to try again now that she's dumped him.

Disney Doll, I know that....which is the main reason why he's not getting another (almost put second but this would be more like a tenth-not all separations, but cheating or something similar) chance with me.
