When we went to WDW on 3rd Jan 08we had booked 14 day ulitmate tickets with the Walt Dinsey UK travel company seperate to our room booking at Pop Century. When we arrived at Pop Century we asked for our tickets to be out on our "key to the world card", instead they put them on a seperate "key to the world card" (so now we got two!)...but more interestingly they code on the bottom of the card said we had a 14 ultimate ticket for 2007-I checked this was ok we had booked 2008 tickets and I was worried they wouldn't work-I was assured they would-and they did!!!

So do you think you could get away with buying 07 tickets? I would have saved about £30 pounds each if I had done?

i think you could of, i remember asking a ticket broker once ( a uk one) if i bought tickets now would they be good for future use and they said yes as they have no expiry date on them except for 14 days from first day of use, so yes sometimes it might be a good idea to buy in advance at this years price, however i'm not going to swear to it as someone on here normally has the official answer lol

I can't speak for 14-day tickets as I haven't bought them, but I have bought 7-day premium tickets, and printed on the bottom of my ones it says:
FIRST USE MUST BE BY DECEMBER 31, 2008
Last year my 2007 ones said the same thing (with 2007 obviously).
If you're ordering tickets direct from Disney then I think you'll get the current price prevailing, and your trip was booked in 2007 for 2008, but I don't think there would have been any price change in the meantime.
I think the last time ticket prices changed was Aug 2007, and I don't think you could have booked for 2008 before then, but I might be wrong!

Nope, 14 day tickets ar bit different you are meant to buy them for the year in which you are visiting. So on the website it says you must have a 2008 ticket when visiting the part in that year. So when we bought outrs we could have bought 2007 or 08 versions.

Anybody else confirm what I have said?

Thanks

Well I hope what you say about buying 2007 14-day Ultimate tickets and them still being valid is correct, as I bought ours last year (leaving this April) and wasn't told there would be a problem with them!

I wasn't aware of any price diferences, mainly because I booked them last year and have been paying them off each month since :) Suppose we'll find out when we arrive at All Stars next month!

Is this well known then? If so wish I knew this would have saved some money-I though that when you travelling in 2008 you needed to but at Ultimate ticket 2008?!

When I booked mine, we had two choices, one for 2008 and one for 2007, as we go in two weeks, I thought it best to but the 2008 ones at the 2008 prices.

I've no idea if it's well known or not...:confused3 More to the point, I'm now a little concerned that mine MAY be last years tickets, even though I'm travelling this year.

I booked them at the time of booking our main part of the holiday (Jan 2007), as the TA had an offer on at the time, £10 deposit on 14-day Ultimate Tickets. The agents never mentioned to me about the price changes for 2008, they just allowed us to book them.

I've since recieved my documents and the 'ticket' is currently a piece of paper with a barcode for scanning when we arrive. I've been told from the barcode scan, our 'tickets' will be put onto our room keys with us staying on property.

Suppose I'll find out in 18 days from now, there'll be maddness in the All Sports lounge if I have to call home to speak to our agents over this!!! :sad2:

We had the piece of paper for scanning too - I'm sure it will be ok. They didn't scan ours just typed some numbers in and it came up. If you booked in 2007 for a 2008 holiday your agent should have put you on the right tickets.

Might be worth a phone call to check though-if you go here :http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_GB/tickets/ticketsUKTickets?id=UKTicketsPage

it does give info on the terms and conditions-good luck I've got my fingers crossed for you!
