Funny, Cindy Sheehan, even within this article, got more press than the parents and wives of fallen hero's at this rally.

So, for those that support Ms. Sheehan, why is her grief more important than the grief of those who support the war? I was told that in order for those who support the war to get the same press, alls they need to do is show up - these people showed up. Ms. Sheehan got the press. Seems a little lopsided to me.

I don't know, either why Cindy Sheehan's grief is more important with the media.
I listen to Rush Limbaugh on the radio. This past Friday's radio show, he had a mockery song about Cindy Sheehan. To the "Windy" song. "Everyone knows it's Cindy". It was a pretty funny song.

The only place I know you will be able to hear the parody song is on Rush's radio show. He will probably play it a couple of times within the next week. You just have to listen to the radio show. The song will just pop up on Rush's show whenever he feels like playing it. You can also try to see if Rush has it on his website. www.rushlimbaugh.com

Or if you listen to other conservative radio talk shows, Laura Ingraham might have the song or Sean Hannity might have it, also. I love all 3 of these people, their talk shows.

Mother Sheehan was also bothered by the fact that Rita was getting all of that media attention instead of her rally this weekend.
i am watching cnn and it is 100 percent rita...even though it is a little wind and a little rain...it is bad, but there are other things going on in this country today...and in the world!!!!

I watched the rally today on c-span. I pretty much cried most of the way through it. My DS and I have talked about what he would want me to do if he didn't make it back from Iraq, and following Cindy was on the top of his DON"T list.

I just dont understand her-i understand grief-but that she would so dishonor her sons sacrifice is confusing to me-i even understand opposing the war-but no publicy dishonoring your childs life like that.

Could be that other soldiers' mothers have jobs and can't just spend all their days traipsing all over the country annoying people. I can't handle her whiny voice anymore. She could be on TV talking about a bomb heading my way and I'd still turn her off.

I'm sure she's hurting and I feel for her in that regard. I get her message....bring home the troops. I tend to agree. Not because I didn't support going to Iraq, but because we got Saddam and I, frankly, don't care that the place is in ruins and don't feel the need to keep our guys over there to put it back together.

Her 15 minutes is up and she's like the bad penny....she just won't go away. I think more people tune her out than tune into her....partly because the message has been received and partly because she's just so darn annoying.

I think she is dishonoring her son as well, and herself.

If I am subjected to this tofu eating, former commune living, whining anti-American woman again I am going to puke.

Her son made the decision to join the military. Not a single person in Iraq was forced to go there.

And I don't want to hear "President Bush, why don't you send your daughters to Iraq." It's the most assisine comment I've ever heard. I was unaware that the government mails out forms to parents and they check a box for whether they want to send their children to war. The last time I had heard, it was a volunteer force. But apparently that was changed and somehow not reported in the media.

I'm not a big fan of the President, but I'm not a fan of cindy Sheehan either. The real questions should be why does the media continue to cover her? What is the appeal? Whether we agree/disagree with what she may or may not be doing with her son's memory - the real focus should be on why the media isn't covering the more important stories instead of concentrating on Cindy.

She is tiresome and annoying.

We all get your point, Cindy. Now, go home.

Glad to see Rush "the pill-popping Daddy/Chickenhawk" Limbaugh still has some humor on his show other than himself.

Last I heard the definition of "keyboard jockey chickenhawk" hasn't changed either.

Geoff_M, I think whoever posted that to the DailyKos was a troll.

As for why the media covers her, it's simple: she has an anti-Bush message to spew and the MSM is more than willing to give her plenty of play. If her message were pro-Bush, she'd never have been noticed.

I agree with Deb in IA -- time to go home and get a job, Cindy.

Nice to see the old gang is still alive and kicking.

Enough of the pleasantries. ;)

I usually stay out of these discussions, but I couldn't let that one go by.
That's the American attitude the world knows and hates! We trashed the place, under false pretenses, let's just go home and leave it. I did not support the war, I think it has been badly mishandled, but I think it needs our help to fix it. The place is so screwed up I don't know how it will ever be fixed, but that's the job of our brilliant leaders. I have seen very little of Cindy Sheehan because I don't watch cable news - I read the newspaper.

Frankly , I just read this article , and it talks about a conter manifestation to another manifestation . The first one brought around 100 000 people ( In one city ' more if you had the ones in other cities) , and the secound one brought around 400 people. Some people from that second protest are interviewed. That is the report: how is it soo pro-Cindy ? Maybe it is something I dont understand from the first poster ! There is so much you can writte about a 400 person rally !

And Cindy is not , from what I've read anti-soldier , she is anti-war. What is soo wrong about wanting peace ? What is so wrong with somebody who manage to put her grief into action and mobilize so many people to go give there opinionwich is an american right. And this opinion is as american There are many ways to love your country , and last weekend more people wanted to be peace-loving american than war loving- americans. Next week , maybe some one with the will of a Cindy and who is pro-war will gather as many people for there cause !

The "400" are pretending to be the "silent majority" when the reality is mainstream America no longer sees this war as being worth it and no longer support this war.

The media went with the real story........or maybe the real story is "what a difference nearly 2000 deaths, nearly 14,000 wounded, and nearly 200 billion dollars spent" make.
