I just participated in one of the pop up survey's on Disney's website. It seemed to be gauging interest about character meet and greets. It was pretty specific!

I'm hoping this means they're considering adding some new character experiences in the future.

Who would you like to meet in the parks?

Villains on a regular basis.

I got this survey a couple of weeks ago. It asks about pretty much every single Disney character in history, how much you want to meet them, if you'd be willing to pay extra to meet them, if you'd use a FP+ for them, and also if you prefer to wait to meet them through scheduled events or whether you'd like to see them randomly roaming the parks. I was pretty adamant that I would not pay extra to meet them, and I reiterated that every chance I had in the survey.

Yes, it was the same survey. They are very few characters we wouldn't like to meet, but I don't want to pay for them. I mentioned I'd like to see more stuff geared toward boys. Don't get me wrong, my son still likes meeting the princesses, but more Star Wars or Marvel presence would be great!

Marvel won't get much.of a presence inside the parks in FL for a long time, outside if guardians of the galaxy characters, due to the contract with Universal.

I definitely agree on more SW, though!

The survey asked about randomly roaming characters ? :scared1: I think that would be a horrible idea. I remember back when that was the norm rather than structured M & G lines that was horrible and people have only become more aggressive, entitled, and rude since then. Bad bad idea on a regular basis.

I agree more Villains, more " old time " Disney characters there are so many of them to choose. I loved the Long Lost Friends they did, and put Donald in his sailor suit someplace and Mickey in his regular clothes somewhere too. No more "extra" charges though.

I would love the return of roaming characters - maybe more minor ones. I so miss the surprise of spotting a character when you turn the corner. And I think it would be fine but I'm also someone who doesn't buy into the "these days" rhetoric.

Trust me I'm not one who longs for the " good old days " in life but I do remember how it was in regard to pushy people with characters. No objection to occasional wandering characters, it's a nice surprise I agree with you, I just wouldn't want to see it replace a structured line for a M & G. That's a recipe for chaos.

Yeah. Disney can plan to have a character roam. But they can't control how people behave. I've been video of the meets at DLRP where they don't line up, and it's not pretty.

We were at DL last year hoping to meet Minnie Mouse at the Jingle Jangle Jamboree. It was quite clear she had orders to roam and mingle. It turned into a crazy game of her trying to evade the line that kept trying to form with various people then just pushing their way in close to her. It was really quite silly.

Dh and I were talking just last night about the way Disney use to do characters--and the mess it created with rude guests shoving their way up to the character.

I'm glad that Disney listens to guests, constantly improving and changing. From characters, to disability assistance and even fast passes (those were abused too).

After seeing the disaster that was the roaming characters at Villains Unleashed, I don't have any wishes for Disney to revisit that idea.

I didn't comment but read your report, what an adorable couple you are :goodvibes Your Malificent M & G was terrific :thumbsup2 but yes, what a cluster and so unsafe for everyone.

With the exception of 2008 when our teens lined up to see Bolt at Hollywood studios, standing in line for an hour and 15 minutes, the last time I've seen characters is when they were roaming.

My main memory is Mickey needing to leave and get away from a huge group of people, bending his head down and walking by quickly, not looking where he was going with a mob of people around, and my dad (who wasn't even trying to see a character was just standing in the the park), getting socked in the gut my Mickey's head. It was actually painful for a little while for my dad and it didn't feel very magical. Just a short term thing, but still.

Whenever we see random characters we head in the other direction now. lol It just looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

They do have Big Hero 6 to work with now, but we definitely won't be seeing the likes of The Avengers or anything like that for a very long time (if ever).

I took that survey awhile ago, too. I said I'd like to see more villains, more classic Disney characters, but definitely wouldn't pay more to see them.

What I would love rather than "roaming" characters are just some surprise M & G's pop up, but structured, with attendants. It's nice to know which characters will be where and at what time; but its also nice to walk into EPCOT via IG and see a couple characters there training when you didn't expect it :goodvibes. Characterpalooza doesn't seem to ever get out of hand. So I think it would be nice if, every once in awhile, you'd walk by Splash and see Bre'r Rabbit doing a M & G there, or be strolling somewhere in HS and see Cruella in a stationary spot signing autographs :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 to all of that!
