I received a survey offer from Disney yesterday asking me to take a survey with a cast member and I would be compensated $100 Disney gift card. I clicked on the link for the survey and it took me to a preliminary survey (I made sure this wasn't a scam). The preliminary survey asked a lot about LLs and planning for a vacation. It also asked if I worked in certain professional fields (i.e. advertising, medical, hospitality). I did not work in any of the fields they listed.

This was all tied to our upcoming visit to WDW as it also asked us where we were staying and what we would be doing. At the end of the survey, it said I would not be selected for the cast member survey as they were looking for certain criteria, so no $100 gift card .

This makes me wonder what/who they are targeting. The many questions about trip planning and pre-panning (i.e. LLs) makes me wonder if there are changes coming to that whole system. Anyone else get this survey offer?

No survey - have a trip coming up in a few weeks.

Is your trip sooner?

If I would have to enter my information, I would probably not do the survey anyway. Never trust to give my information (get them often from stores, etc.).

I check the email of the invitation. If it is directly from Disney, or a survey company they are known to use, I participate. If the email address looks the least bit fishy, I pass.

I have taken the surveys right after our trips - none offer any compensation/gift card - I always think if they sent me an email, they should have my name/address etc. - I should not have to enter it at the end for any prize, etc.

If a survey asks me at the end of the survey, I just get out of it. Overly cautious/suspicious here of everything :guilty::teeth:

I received a survey from Disney last week about my upcoming trip later this week. The body of the email said this:

Greetings!

But there was NO mention of a Disney gift card! LOL! Bummer! They wanted to know about my LLs and any pre-planning I was doing.

We will be there on 9 April.

Here's what I received (again, just weird because I was never offered compensation for prior surveys):

Greetings!

Our team is eager to connect with upcoming visitors to the Walt Disney World Resort, and according to our records, this may include you! We're reaching out to invite you to share your valuable thoughts and insights regarding certain aspects of your upcoming trip.

What's involved?

If selected
, we would invite you to participate in an informal, 45-minute online discussion, facilitated by a Disney Destinations Research moderator. Rest assured, there will be no marketing/sales pitches involved – we're solely interested in hearing your feedback.

When will this take place?

Virtual discussions will be scheduled at various times from March 24 - March 26, 2025.

What will I receive in return?

If selected
, as a token of appreciation for your time, each participant will receive a $100 Disney Gift Card, redeemable at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, or online at DisneyStore.com.

How can I volunteer to participate?

19 for us....

Wow 45 minutes? Yikes!

That was my thought. 45 minutes seems like a long time for a survey.
I received the email. The 45 minutes refers to the length of the online discussion (like a focus group) for those who are selected to participate and would then be compensated with the Disney gift card. The email took you to a preliminary questionnaire that was used to screen responders to see if they had the right profile to fit the criteria for the planned focus group online discussion. You also were asked about availability for the indicated days when the online discussions were to be scheduled. That email survey took me about 5 minutes to complete. I was not selected for the online discussion group, so I must not have met the group criteria (or earlier respondents had already filled available slots for someone with my profile).

Identifying the criteria for such a focus group can depend on survey goals. Do you want a homogeneous group (a number of similar participants) or a more varied selection (age, gender, ethnicity, income level, geographic location, occupation, travel party size and composition, and so forth, might all factor into the desired group composition)? The preliminary survey is designed in part to screen responders to determine whether they will fit the desired group profile.

Upcoming trip and no survey email. But I only have rooms and dining booked at this point nothing else

I've gotten one of those emails before. In my case, it was an in-person interview with the researcher that took place at an on-property convention center. I did qualify based on their initial survey, and I did participate in the project. I won't discuss the contents of their research, as an NDA was part of the process. But it was basically providing feedback on a system they were working on. It wasn't parks related.

Wow, they made you sign an NDA too?

This morning I got an email "Interesting Survey, Offered $100 Disney Gift Card" I was like oh wow I got the email too! No... just a notification for this thread :surfweb: Need more coffee.

I got that same survey a few weeks ago. It asked me if I had an upcoming stay at the Pop Century. I did initially have a reservation there but found a great rate at the Swan so I had changed. When I answered "no" to the Pop Century question, they told me I didn't qualify. I thought I might be able to tell them my upcoming stay was at the Swan instead but wasn't given that option.
