Interesting Rumor on AllEarsNet...suites at the All Stars

I think it will be a good option for families that usually stay at a value resort. However, did you see those chairs that fold out to a single bed? Boy, do they look uncomfortable not to mention really narrow. Do you think they offer turn down service? I would hate to have to make up both chairs and the sofa each night after coming back late from the theme parks if I had little kids.

I'm glad that Disney is giving people more options but I'm even happier that I'm a DVC member.

I would assume that there is no "turn-down service" at a value resort.

room or no room, you are still at a value. Not my cup of tea.
Nor mine. I do think it is good that new options exist for families of 5 but not our cup of tea either. We have never stayed in a value resort but have become extremely attached to our DVC resorts.

I wonder about the decision to do this at value resorts versus moderate resorts. I suspect it has something to do with the price-point: That typical moderate resort guests would sooner stay at a value resort suite, at 1.5 times the price of a value resort room, than typical value resort guests would stay at a moderate resort suite, at 1.5 times the price of a value moderate room.

If we were not DVC members, I would definitely book one of these rooms. We have stayed in Holiday Inn "Kidsuites" and Embassy Suites on many trips (not just to Orlando), and find that, even though we only have two kids, we prefer to both sleep in a separate room from the kids, and have some better "hanging out" space that involves couches and chairs rather than beds. I like the idea, and think that Disney is making a smart move.

Also a good option for those in 2 brm (5-6) people, espically with kids(3-4) that are coming in on a weekend, and don't want to give up the hefty points. Options are always great.

ITA::yes::
We're in the "weekend point saver club"..but don't like to leave off site..so we've moved to a studio on the weekends.

We'll give them a try for our next big onsite trip in 2007:) (If they're available by then!)

I like the idea particularly for large families who can not afford the deluxe or DVC resorts and don't want Fort Wilderness cabins. It is an offering category that Disney has been missing and offered by Marriott, Hilton and others.

It may also be an attractive option to members who like to save on points by staying elsewhere F/S nights.
