I made a change to our reservation today (for a stay in May) and received some interesting, and a bit unsettling, information from the Disney travel agent. When I first made the reservation, that travel agent told me that there were specific 'preferred' loops - 100, 200, and 300 - and that I would be in one of those. When I stated that we would be bringing our dog, she said that the preferred pet loop was 300, so we would be in that. I thought this was good news, because 300 looked like a good location (we'd like to do some fishing while we are there).
So, I called to day to extend our stay a few days, and the agent today had something different to say about pets and preferred loops. What she told me was that, if you bring a pet, and have a reservation for a preferred site, they will put you in a preferred location within a pet loop. She explained this to mean a larger site that was closer to the transportation area for that loop, but not necessarily in a loop that was closer to anything desirable, and not necessarily in a preferred loop. I also asked to confirm that the pet loop was guaranteed, and she replied that, by stating that you will be bringing a pet with you, you are just adding a special request to your reservation - which will be granted, if possible - but not guaranteed. She informed me that, if there were no pet sites, there is a kennel nearby that we would be directed to
.
I ended up having to make a second change today, and spoke with a different person. He mentioned that I could request a specific loop if I wanted to, and told me that loop 300 was a pet loop. I added that request to my reservation. I guess that I will have to keep my fingers crossed.
