15 years ago, construction on China's ambitious "Wonderland Amusement Park" stopped abruptly - blamed on disagreements between the farmers and developers over land prices (you would think they would have had that settled first), with only the front of the park facade finished, and some building frameworks including an incomplete central castle among very flat and empty land.

Here is a pictorial of recent pictures, as they have started demolition:

Kinda creepy.

And the mascot seems to bear a resemblance to a certain purple dragon...

Very creepy and cool. I do love pics of defunct and abandoned Parks...

We drove past this "park" in the Fall of 2005. It appeared abandoned then. Earlier in the trip we spent time at HK Disneyland right after it opened. Quite a difference between the two.

It's kind of sad to see all of that wasted.

These things both fascinate and disappoint me. Especially with former/abandoned places. I like the nostalgia aspects - but then wish I had a TARDIS to go back and see them in their heyday...

Speaking of which, as I segue - tonight's Doctor Who is most interesting, about the biggest amusement park in space/time - found abandoned...

Very interesting to see these -thanks for sharing.
