Interesting Photopass Discount

I was fortunate to receive the email with the link to the pre-order photopass discount. I purchased prior to our Christmas trip, and today I went ahead and ordered the CD with our pictures.

When the purchase page came up there was a code discount for $15 off a photo cd purchase in the bottom right corner. I gave it a shot to see if I could get the extra off and it worked! I was really surprised.

Granted, the only fee I had to pay OOP was $2 in shipping at that point, but since I had the credit available I bumped it up to the express shipping and saved $6. Not a huge savings by Disney standards, but a savings none the less!

The code is JAN15CDT and it is available for photopass CD orders through January 17. Now the budgeteer in me is bummed I did not browse around on the site to add a frame or something to my order to use the whole credit!

I too preorderd the CD for our Christmas trip so I went and checked out the discount. It says it is only good for the purchase of the cd and not for other merchandise. I haven't "ordered" my CD yet and I want to order a print so I will let you all know if I can get the discount or not.

I actually had a question about that photopass discount. I booked our trip for Feb and I have recieved the mailings from Disney with all of our information. I have not recieved anything about the photo pass discount and I REALLy want that discount. Should I call Disney? When does it usually come?

the last time i stayed on property, they actually sent me an email during my visit. Saying "we hope you're enjoying your Disney vacation". They gave me some sort of code to use for a percentage off any order. Not as great as the 100 pre order promo. But something is better than nothing.

Yep, it is only good for the purchase of the CD, but it recognized my pre-order credit for the CD as a CD purchase - does that make sense?

From my experience yesterday, you should be able to order your CD and the print and use the $15 off to basically make the print free or reduced depending on the print.

Just remember the expiration is fast approaching.

Andrea, about a month before our trip they sent me a newsletter type mailing. In the newsletter was a link for Photopass, and only when I pressed that link did it then take me to the discount pre-order $99 photopass cd (no mention of this prior) with a code.

The only reason I knew where to find this was because of a posting on the boards or I surely would have missed this as well. From what I read this was mailed only to those booked on site through Disney with a package. Some booked through a TA were able to get the discount after jumping through some hoops. I hope that helps!

Seems like I read somewhere that somebody discovered a way to use the discount on something other than the Photo CD. something about removing the CD from your cart after the coupon applied. Anybody remember this?

I would love to use this on a photobook for a change.

Question about the preorder...

Is the only way to get it for $100 is to receive an email link? We just booked our trip last week and we are leaving Tuesday. So I don't think we'll get it before we leave. We can't afford the normal price. And heck even the $100 is a stretch. DH wants to skip it. Last time we went we did the swap so it was only like $15 or $20 which was worth it even though we didn't get that many good pictures. But full price is too expensive for us. I think I remember the CM's also able to use your personal camera to take pictures, if they still do that we might just end up doing that instead. Hmmm.

I have heard here on the Dis that the only way to get a code is to have booked directly through Disney. If you booked through a TA like I did , then you are out of luck. I actually could totally and happily mke my own ressies but I feel it is a nice idea to throw a few $$ (from comission) to a TA so I book that way. Anyway I also heard that if you register your trip info on the Disney site then you have a chance of getting the code even if you booked through a TA. Hoping that is true.

Just a tip for those DVC'ers out there. If you call member services 45 days or less before your trip they will get you the code. I called yesterday and was too far out, but they told me to call back at 45 or less days and they would help me get it. So we are not getting left out for once!
