Interesting DVC and DIS...

Just had a really nice conversation with Gib at DVC. He's trying to find me VWL points that I can purchase and finance via Disney. (Yes, we are looking at resales too.)

What caught me off guard was when he mentioned "yearly value of points" if you choose to rent rather than bank them. He said, "On the DISBoards they rent for $10 apiece, so...."

He didn't explain what the DISBoards were or go into a lot of detail, but he sure knew about us.

Interesting, I bet a lot of the Disney folks know about us. Now.....if they would just start listening to our wonderful ideas!!!!! Lacee

I hope they do read these boards. They can get a good feel for the likes & dislikes of DVC owners.

Let's face it. Most of us are the hard core DVCers.

I wonder how many times posting on and reading this forum has helped someone answer questions in a non-threatening environment and finally decide to buy DVC? This board is like an unpaid sales agent, IMHO.

DVC member services does indeed read these boards.

I agree that they read them.
In conversation with my guide I mentioned that I was a member of an online community....she said oh yeah...The DIS boards?

My guide told me the same thing!! I wonder though if you all are aware of any other boards like this one that have a DVC only area? Just curious if this is the largest/most popular or are there others out there.

Yes there are other sites with DVC discussion boards, but they do not have nearly the number of hits that we do. I found one the other day. While the top thread was posted that day, the second thread was posted 3 or 4 days earlier. Many of the threads on the first page were over a month old.

That is the reason I came here in the first place. I had visited many a board where I was attacked for asking a simple question. When I came here, I got helpful answers to my questions. I got the good and the bad.

My purchase decision was heavily influenced by this board.... You guys should get a commission!!!!

My guide definitely reads this board. When the change with wait list happened, I had just called her the day before looking for a BWV add-on and she told me the new process and she asked "please, don't mention it on the boards." I didn't have to , ya'll did it the next day. I was able to adhere to her wishes. So, I know that she is definitely on here.


By the way - my 50 pt BWV just came through yesterday ! It took about 3 - 4 weeks to happen....

We also bought based in large part on what I learned here!! Too bad we can't figure out a way to get some of those DVC rewards when someone buys based on these boards!!!
