Interesting about postcards...

I just read this on MouseSavers:

A note to postcard recipients: at least one person has succeeded in getting a better rate on a hotel even AFTER his postcard offer had expired. He called and told the agent he hadn't been able to travel during the time of the postcard offer, and asked if there were any similar deals going currently. He gave the PIN number off the card, and he was given a great rate! Thanks to John D for the info.

The postcard I got (has since been thrown in the TRASH by dh, but I digress...) offered deluxes (AKL maybe?) at $129 but expires Oct. 2. If the above statement is true maybe those going in the fall could try and finagle something. If anyone tries or succeeds- I would love to know if that works!

I tried... they couldn't offer me any discount for the end of October with the postcard I received today, or with any other offer. They said that the AP holders will get their discounts first (coming in July) and then other ones might pop up after that. I guess it makes sense... they want to give AP holders first dibs on good rates, that's why we all buy AP's.
