Hi,

my husband and I are interested in finally touring DVC. We have tried to the last few times and it has never worked out. We really dont want to take time out of our vacation doing this but we are very interested. Is it worth it? How long does it take?

Is it worth it?

if you are very interested, then it's probably worth it.

IMO you get better information on the DIS and it's not essential. some people have misunderstood that the "guides" are salespeople who will try to put DVC in the most optimistic light, and have felt burned as a result when some changes have occurred (points reallocation, loss of resale benefits). DVC guides are usually honest - just don't count on them to point out the downsides or risks.

but it's nice to see the model units. and you'll at least get ice cream.

How long does it take?

they have historically been willing to work with you. often (but not always) you will get some fastpasses (or perhaps small giftcards) to help offset taking up your time.

you can call the DVC number ahead of time or set the tour up at a kiosk...let them know how much time you have and go from there.

There is a model villa at Disney's Boardwalk. This is the quickest way to cheack out a Villa and learn more about DVC. Look for the DVC sign on the Boardwalk.

You don't say where you live, but you can also check out the two Doorway to Dreams locations. One is near Chicago in Schaumburg (I signed up there), the other is in New York.
