Interested in selling our BLT Points. Where to start?

So, I popped into this section because we are interested in selling our BLT DVC points, and I don't know where to begin. We bought our points through Disney and have never rented points, etc., so I'm completely unversed in this. I've read through a few threads, and it looks like now might be a good time to sell. It seems that there aren't many BLT listings right now?

Any advice how to proceed? Do I just contact The Timeshare Store (or a similar-type place)? Will they tell me how much to list it for? Is there anything else I should research before I call them? I hate to go into this completely uneducated.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

It seems like a lot of folks are not thrilled with what the Poly DVC is going to offer and resales of BLT and VGF are more popular.....

Or are people selling BLT and VGF points to buy Poly? :confused3

January and February are always popular times to list contracts for sale. The arrival of those annual dues bills have a way of prompting people to re-evaluate their ownership.

As for Poly, I can understand some people being disappointed in certain aspects (high prices of bungalows, lack of 1B and 2B villas) but I'm not sure that it would cause many owners to re-evaluate holdings at an entirely different property.

Whatever the Poly brings has no impact on features at MY Home resorts, nor my ability to book at 11 months.

Just call whatever broker u decide to go through. They will do all the heavy lifting for you. That is what you are paying them a commission for.

We bought points thru resale in 2005 and are downsizing (and trimming our budget) and decided to sell one of our contracts this year.

Contacted Timeshare Store last Friday. Filled out some paperwork online. Scanned, emailed it back. They posted the listing on Saturday. We got on offer and negotiated a final price on Sunday. Very simple. And, as others have indicated, the broker does most of the heavy lifting. Now we just wait for ROFR and then closing.

FWIW (and this is not a paid endorsement), the Timeshare Store is great and they are doing a wonderful job on this. They are a pleasure to deal with and make it very easy.

There's virtually no BLT contracts on the market right now. That indicates a high interest in them IMO, not a dumping to buy Poly.

i like that! all you need to do is give them the contract number.

I've sold twice through The Timeshare Store (longtime sponsor of these boards) and have been very satisfied with every aspect of those transactions.
