SORRY ALL, but I need to vent. I picked up the interactive castle back in November. Its my DD's BIG gift from Santa. The only thing she really!! wanted. I'm in tears right now, me & dh went to set it up, not only are all 3 princesses missing BUT a wall is also missing. I'm close to hysterical. My dd is 4 yrs old. I can't believe they would sell like this. box was taped and everything. DH thinks we should give it to her anyways and tell her there is a special place we can bring it to to be fixed. I can't believe this!! I want to strangle them at the Disney Store!! Sorry all, needed to vent. Have a great holiday all, Kim

Have you considered taking it right back to the Disney Store and getting a new one or your money back? I know it's supposed to be the BIG gift from Santa, but I'm sure your DD wouldn't mind receiving it a day late. Sorry about your trouble.

Thanks tigger, we are supposed to be getting a MAJOR snow storm beginning tomorrow here in Massachusetts but DH said if the roads are ok thursday am he'll take it back to Disney Store and get another one. I just checked online and they don't show them anymore there. I can only hope they still have them at the store or we will have alot of explaining to do. I'm really torn between leaving it out for her or putting it back in the basement and then taking her out and "buying" it for her next week.  I have just never encountered a problem like that at the DS. Have a great X-mas.

Doesn't that just infurate you you:mad:

I would let her play with it if she wants to...then ASAP..pack it back up and return it to the DS...her playing with it today might give her some joy....she can't hurt anything by playing with it....

You are so right....you are definitely owed an apology at LEAST...and...(my opinion)...A HUGE DISCOUNT:eek:

Enjoy the rest of your day....and seek solace in the fact that the DS has to make this right with you:bounce: :bounce:

We bought another type of Princess Castle, it is interactive but smaller then we thought. It is about the size of a lunch box. It is not what I thought it was. My daughter played with it for about 3 minutes.

Disney store will replace it for you without a problem. As far as a discount, that won't happen.

This happens at every retailer at some time or another, and mistakes do happen. Sorry it happened to you and that it all works out.

Suzanne

I called yesterday (day after xmas) to make sure they had some in stock. Kevin was very nice, referring to my DD as "princess" and such so I couldn't really be mad. He offered to hold one until tonite, and to call if I couldn't get back by tonite. He was very nice. I did feel better once DD didn't seem too upset. Well, I brought it back today and they had one waiting. They offered to check to make sure the princesses were in there. I was actually missing a whole box which included the princesses and the wall. So all is well now, DD was thrilled. She kept thanking me   ;) I hope she doesn't suspect anything at 4 yrs old. Have a great new year all and thanks for allowing me to vent. Kim

Your post seems to indicate that you think the Disney Store deliberately sold you a damaged product to give to your child for Christmas and that you want to "strangle" them. I think that is a bit unfair to put the blame on those in that store. If it was taped up and still in its original packaging it must have come from the manufacturer in that manner. I can't think of any one at a Disney Store that would sell a damaged product to someone KNOWING it was going to a child on a special day.

Glad that you got it all straightened out, but please, put the blame where it belongs on where ever this item might have been packaged and don't blame the people working in the store for something that was unfortunate and disaapointing, but could and was adjusted for you.

I don't think that everytime something I purchase is not as it is supposed to be, heck we all have bought items that are less than perfect or don't work, that I'm entitled to a discount. A sympathetic clerk and a very sincere apology usually do the trick for me.

OMG... I am NOT blaming the Disney Store, as I stated I wanted to "Vent" was all. And actually it was a whole BOX missing from the castle, It sure wasn't my fault. I never said they deliberately sold me that castle. Just figured I couldn't strangle my DH, he had toys to set up ;) Loosen up a little, my second post showed that all is well and good in Toyland ;) Like I said I wanted to "vent" to people that would be understanding during Xmas eve. Have a wonderful new year! Why is it when someone wants to "let loose" a little, someone always has to try to light a flame? Especially a few days after the post to begin with. Oh yeah, on Xmas Eve at 10:30at nite when your setting up gifts you can't help but wonder if someone brought it back and they just taped up the box w/out checking the contents. It could've been possible that it was a return and was "reboxed" incorrectly. I was NOT looking for a discount, just the full item that was purchased which I received painlessly. Ejxplaining to my 4 yr old DD not so painlessly.

I'm glad the situation worked out for you. I am "loose" and I was not "lighting a flame" just stating how I looked at the situation.

I did not say that you expected a discount, but someone else suggested as much.

You ask why when anyone vents, someone jumps on them, I might ask why when someone states their opinion, they need to "loosen up"?

Anyway, no harm was meant in my post or from what I can see from your post, just people giving views of the situation., which we are entitled to. Glad the little one got a castle that is "all there" and working fine...that is what is important, a child's joy. My own kids have had their share of "needing to be fixed" toys after Christmas morning. I just happened on the post also, that is why I guess my reply was a few days late.:D

Glad everything worked out well, this castle was soo cute my DD,2, would not leave the store last week where it was set up. I learned the lesson of a pre-Christmas Eve run through years ago when a similar situation happened to me.

Mom, it is really cute...not sure if its worth 60$ though  but in my daughters whole 4 years that is the only toy she has actually cried over when it was time to leave the store. She cried twice so I figured that the heck. I really like the fact that there is only 4 pieces including the castle and the princesses. No small, numerous pieces. Works for me ;)
