For those who have ridden both...how does the intensity of the Hulk compare to MGM's Rock n Rollercoaster? This will be our first trip to IOA and I notice that the height requiremnt is much taller for Hulk than RNR. In fact my youngest may not make the cut. My kids loved RNR and I didn't know how they compare. Thanks!

I find Hulk to be MUCH more intense than Rock N Roller coaster. It is a much longer ride and it is not in the dark so you see everything that is happening. The launch is also more intense than RNR. It's a GREAT coaster!:Pinkbounc

Hulk is more intense and a far better ride, IMO. The height requirement is greater for a good reason.:D You will love this ride.

The major difference is visual. I personally don't like dark coasters because I LIKE seeing how how up I am or the plummet to whereever!

There is no doubt, the Hulk is RNR times 3!

This ride chicken LOVES Rock N Roller Coaster, but cannot go on Hulk...way too intense. My husband even has a hard time riding it. Our teens love it!

Hulk is so much smoother than RNR. It is a far superior quality coaster and you can really feel it in the ride.

I definitely agree, Robin!! I am not a huge fan of dark coasters either!! I love the Hulk though and can't wait to go on it again!!
I look horrible though in those pictures they take that you can buy after the ride...Looks like I am scared to death on it!!:scared1:

I agree with Damo - Hulk is much smoother. I had a headache for hours after riding RnR, but I could ride Hulk all day long (I think!). :smooth:

We did not find the RnRc to be rough at all, but it is definately not as intense as the Hulk. The hulk has more inversions and you can see it all coming, where the RnRc is in the dark and you don't know its coming, taking away from the intensity. We liked both a lot, but the Hulk is far more intense.

One of the other main differences is that your head isn't bached in when you get off Hulk. RNR coaster is such a head banger I don't ride it that often. I come off half the time with a headache.

Hulk has more G forces going thru the loops. You are pinned down in your seat. If you ride a few times in a row, you feel out of it. Same thing on Deuling Dragons. Ride Ice a few times, and you'll feel queezy.

I have found that RnR can be quite hard on your back, I suffer from back pain but still have to ride the rollercoasters in florida :) whereas on the hulk the ride experience is far superior.

I found RnR tame as well because last time, I had just come from Las Vegas to orlando and I had ridden a ride called Speed in the Sahara. If you like fast rides you need to go on it, it seemed unbelievable!

The Hulk is awesome, and so are the Dueling Dragons! I wouldn't miss either coaster. Both the Hulk and the Dragons are about tied in my mind, with the Rockin' Roller Coaster a ways down the list.

Which dragon is better?

I have only been on the Fire Dragon. I hope to ride both on my next visit. Most posts I have read suggest that you should ride both Dragons as each offer a bit different experience.

IMO Fire Dragon is more intense than Ice Dragon. Sit up front for the near-collisions...it's awesome, since you have nothing in front of you to block your view. :)

Never rode RnRc before. Wasn't even around last time I was at MGM....many years ago.

I don't really think R&RC is intense. The launch is the most intense and that only lasts for 3 seconds. It is jerky. Hulk is WAY more intense. It's fun scariness like a good coaster should be and just as smooth as silk. I love the launch too. It's my fave roller coaster anywhere. Love it.

Ice is the better dragon IMO.

I've found that the further back you sit in RNRC, the rougher it is. So the front seat is the smoothest and the back is rough. Hulk seems to be good in any row, but the back of the Hulk is the most intense.

That depends on preference. Fire is more intense, IMO, and for some coaster fans, they like Fire better because of that.
