Can anyone recommend a good insurance company for our upcoming cruise as well as any advice looking for cruise insurance? Thank you so much in advance!!!!

We usually select a policy from Travelex through the site mentioned above. We've only had to file one claim, but it was paid within a week of submitting the paperwork.

Did they have u run it through your insurance first?

If the claim is medical (doctor visit, medication, hospital, etc.), you may be required to submit to your personal health insurance. Travel insurance will kick-in if the claim is denied, or may pay the OOP (deductible, copay, etc.) required by your regular health insurance.

I just bought my trip insurance after reading this post, so Thanks for the reminder! I have been putting it off. But I used a website called "Square Mouth" I really like the way you can compare policies side by side, they also have a live chat window you can submit any questions you have about the policy, they were super prompt in responding.

Did they have u run it through your insurance first?

When I was buying my insurance, I asked through the chat window the difference between primary and secondary coverage; if the trip insurance policy says "Primary Coverage" they pay first, regardless of your at home insurance. If the policy says "Secondary Coverage" it wall pay after your personal insurance does. I chose the Primary Coverage one
