Insurance Options?

Yeah, sorry you're finding it a challenge. I don't own DVC but my understanding from reading these boards is that it is very hard (if not impossible) to re-coup DVC points. Once "spent" they are gone. Many DVC owners won't use points for a cruise - they'll rent the points and use all cash for DCL. Good luck!

DVC does sell a travel insurance plan for $89 for a year’s coverage. It covers trip cancellation/delay, emergency medical care, baggage issues, and other common concerns but I can’t tell from information on the DVC website whether the plan includes any coverage for forfeited DVC points.

You can shop around. I don't think the DCL-offered policy covers DVC points. If it is available (did you have to pay-in-full when booking since you used points?), I suspect it only covers actual out-of-pocket loss and not points. As with any travel involving "points" or "mileage" - there are insurance policies available, but I suggest you ask very specific questions when insurance shopping.

Also something to consider -- and this may not be your situation -- if you are already aware of a need to cancel, it may not be covered by any policy. Again, ask specific questions about scenarios you are considering might cause you to cancel.

Enjoy your cruise!
We had to cancel a trip before that was booked partly with points/miles. The insurance covered the fees charged by airline and hotel to reinstate points once reservations were cancelled.
