Our vacation was booked in Feb. With my family (DH, DD, DS & DM), then In laws decide to join us. Now my Bro & SIL are coming. SO all those ADR's booked @ 180 days are useful to us. I had Ohana booked, but it seems that its going to be difficult to get the whole group in for dinner before my kids' bedtime.
What would be another recommendation for a unique, yet reasonably priced dinner for a group of 9?

It's a vacation. Give a little on bedtime. Just make sure y have strollers so they can pass out if need be. Bed time totally goes out th door. Just as ling as they are in bed before 12 am we feel like good parents lol J/K but give in a little.

If u plan your nights around bedtime things will seemed a bit rushed.

Have you called to try to change your ADR at Ohana? I think this is one of those restaurants that can absorb larger parties better than others.

When we went, we had an ADR for 6 people - I made it right at 180 days out. Then found out friends would be there and wanted to join us for dinner. So 3 weeks before our trip we tried to add 3 people to the ADR. They didn't have anything - but we kept calling each day. Finally, my friends were able to get an ADR for Ohana about 15 min after our ADR. We just all went to the restaurant together and asked if they could do their best to combine us. We had to wait about 15 min - then, no problem.

So if you can't add them to your ADR - see if you can get a separate ADR for just them - at around the same time as yours.

I'd keep calling back and checking if you really want Ohana, as people cancel all the time and you never know when something might become available :goodvibes. Otherwise, not sure what else you have booked (or if you want character meals), but some suggestions might be Chef Mickey's at CR, Boma at AKL, Cape May Cafe at the BC, or 1900 Park Fare at the GF......just to name a few :cutie:.

You could try making an entirely separate reservation for the five of them, as close to your reservation time as possible. When you check in, ask if it's possible to be seated together, or at least close.

Disneygal - I wouldn't be surprised if the "bedtime" comment wasn't so much about letting the kids stay up on vacation, but rather that the OP thinks they might fall asleep during dinner?

I think my best bet is to continue to try for a new ADR for the new people to cooincide with our existing ADR. Thanks for the advice on that. I will get my passporters and unofficial guide back out to research some of the other suggestions. Perhaps Boma might be a good direction to head in!
Oh and regarding the little ones, I am definitely willing to let bedtime slide, however since they go to bed at 7 on the nose at home and have never slept in a stroller, I'm not counting on them being different on vacation (although I am praying they will sleep in the stroller). My worst fear is to be the Mom carrying two screaming/crying children from the restaurant/park/bus. :teleport:

Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. Very similar to Ohana in that it's very interactive and family friendly. Lots of neat kids activities. The only real difference is the atmosphere (Ohana=tropical, WCC=western).

If you like Brazilian steakhouses, though, keep trying for Ohana b/c that is what it's like.

Like someone suggested before, buffets always work for big groups. Here's a few:

Crystal Palace @ MK
Chef Mickey's @ CR
Cape May Cafe @ BC (if you like seafood)
Hollywood and Vine @ DHS (with this, you can get special passes to see Fantasmic!)

Thanks for the list BCV! BTW, I'm a huge Cubbies fan too! Darn dodgers.
