Instant Pot users?

Be sure your cream cheese is room temp and I would beat it alone till smooth before adding other ingredients. For some reason, I couldn't get all the tiny lumps smoothed out this time. It didn't affect the taste though.

Thanks! Quick release works well for you? Most of the recipes I see call for natural. The one time I tried a cheesecake it was way over baked. It wasn’t a recipe for an Instant Pot though.

I've always done quick release for cheesecakes with no problems. wonder why natural release is recommended.

They’re not calling it a pressure cooker but I just assumed that’s what it is.

Have you checked to make sure the silicone ring is properly seated? Sometimes the can get loose with use as well. You can buy two packs on Amazon to replace it for not much. Also check to see that your vents and what not aren’t clogged.

Thanks I will try that!

The steam factor? I’m not sure. I’ll have to put this one through a practice run before Christmas. DD teases me about my IP and she’s a baker by profession so I want it to impress her, lol.

I just made the pumpkin cheesecake again and made sure the cream cheese and eggs were room temp-no lumps this time. This recipe called for quick release. Most IP cheesecakes come out with some liquid on the top-just dab gently with a paper towel.

Got my IP mini today! it is so darn cute-I could eat it up! I tested it out with hard boiled eggs which normally take 6 minutes in the IP. Since it is smaller, it takes less time to come to pressure and the eggs were not as hard boiled as we like so we will add a minute to the cook time when using the mini. We will only do this for foods that take less than 10 minutes. Each minute really matters and if it's coming to pressure quicker, that's less cook time.

I've used mine a lot more than I first thought I would, last night I did frozen salmon fillets. 4 minutes high pressure with a semi quick release. I use a silicon basket for those because the fish is usually falling apart. Tonight I am going to attempt my first roast. Hope to get it all in, then go to soccer practice and come to home to it finished! fingers crossed!!

I have to say that I just LOL when people say it's "easy" to make hardboiled eggs in the instapot. Hardboiled eggs are ridiculously easy to make on a stove top. Put eggs in pan. Cover with cold water. Bring to a boil. Take pan off heat. Let pan sit for 10 minutes. Why would I need ANYTHING to help me make hardboiled eggs? Can someone educate me? Especially when I read the instructions.

Or, they may be made in the oven in a muffin tin!

Put the eggs in ice cold water after hard boiling them and the same thing happens.

I've tried this several times and they don't seem to be any easier when I do this. I don't have an instant pot yet but I'm seriously considering it just for the egg issues I always seem to have.

Just got one today. I will open it tomorrow and look at the receipies. I am having surgery on my shoulder soon and thought it might make it easier for the others to cook meal.

Just wanted to wish you good luck with your surgery.

I think they are trying to steer people away from freaking out and don't want people to be afraid to use a pressure cooker. So give it a different name other than "pressure cooker"

I believe that too because, if you've seen one blow! :scared:

My girls bought me the 3qt mini today for Christmas! I'm so excited to try it out, and if I really like it, I may get the bigger version (with more features!!!) later on .

Hmmm, what to make first.....
