Installing Torsion Spring on Garage Door

My automatic garage door breaks a hinge about once a year; the garage door place recommend having a torsion spring installed for about $280. Does anyone have? Thanks.

Commercial doors use torsion springs. So possibly your door is too heavy for the pulley spring you are using? Torsion springs break too though.

We have the torsion springs. My GF does not. Her doors are always broken and getting repaired. Our work flawlessly year after year.

Not a bad price and something you should probably have. Garage doors are heavy, espescially if it is a double door. My DH replaced the spring on our door but it is not something I recomend you do yourself(and was nervous it would break loose when he was tightening it)
