Inspired by the purse designer thread...how much will you pay for a purse?

Pic! Pic!
Oh, okay!

It's funny, until I saw it I was not really an Isabella Fiore fan. But now...this bag was the only time I have ever had a love at first sight kind of thing. It's so bohemian and so fun. And so beautiful too, the craftsmanship is unbelievable. I had to have it. I have a couple Kate Spades and two Coach bags, which I love, but this bag was one of those OMG! moments for me. It's funny, doesn't usually happen with handbags for me.

eta: and a limited edition indeed. I'm lucky I had this pic saved to my computer because it's no longer at the Bergdorf and Nieman Marcus websites. I'm happy I didn't wait on this, like I usually would!

I won't pay more than $30 for a purse. I'm not poor but I just can't justify paying more than $30 for a purse.

VERY cool!
Thank you. You know, a few years ago I would have counted myself as one who would never pay such an astronomical price for a handbag...but then I started learning about them and the work that goes into them. When I saw this bag, I knew I was a convert. Sometimes, I just sit and look at it, it's so intricately crafted and lovely.....silly as that sounds!

The great thing about Isabella Fiore purses is that many of them are not as expensive and they are all just as beautifully done. Isabella Fiore now has a fan for life in me! :teeth:

I don't spend a lot on purses. In fact, my most expensive purse is a cigar box-shaped purse that I bought in Chicago for $15. The original price was $30, but the seller was so nice about giving it to me for such a low price. To me, that purse is a bargain and I guard it with my life. But then again, I have another purse in the shape of a chinese take-out box too. :p I love my unique purses.

I've paid about $200 for my Coach bag. I have had it for years and years.

I really love Vera Bradleys... but they are $60 for a smaller sized shoulder bag. I usually don't pay more then $20-$25 for a purse because I usually carry a diaper bag. But recently at my girls school auction, I bid and won a Vera in the design I really wanted for only $38... so I saved a few bucks for a purse I really wanted!

I'd love to get a Coach sometime... they are pretty purses

I have 10 of the bigger nine west bags all that I have paid just under $70 bucks for. That's probably my maximum. That's my extent of purses.

OK...I am a reformed Designer Handbag addict! How did I reform you ask? It was easy! I HAD HAD HAD to have a Louis Vuitton Murakami hand bag two spring seasons ago. The was no other purse for me. $2,500 later, that purse is up in my closet, in its authentic Louis Vuitton dust bag, doing just that, bagging dust! Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved this bag and still do. But when I can go to a mall in any town in America and see a 13 yo girl carrying a knock off of my bag, it tend to take the wind out of my sails. By the way, my bag of choice these days is $35 no name diaper bag!

Most I have paid is 300 bucks for a Coach. I love it. It is gorgeous, but is not leather. It is some kind of material and it does get dirty sooooo I am not sure I would do it again.
I have several designer bags. They do last for a long long time, but I also get tired of bags and change often.

To each their own I say.

Love Coach purses. They last a long time! I buy them at outlets, never full price. I've got about 7 of them now and the first one I bought looks just as good as the rest of them!

So far I've never seen a purse that I wanted bad enough to spend more than $75 bucks on. Actually most of my purses are in the $30-$50 range. I want a nice bag that will hold together well but I'm not at all worried about a name brand. Thats just not my bag, lol. (Sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist!)

I have two Gucci's, one the classic bucket that I got back in 1988. I can't afford at the moment to spend a large amount, but I will again if I have the means. They are gorgeous and well made.

My mom is trying to get my hooked on Coach, but I'm not....yet. ;)

;) I felt the exact same way when I got my LV Murakami bag. I sold it on Ebay about 1 month after I bought it. I was so excited to get it and was on a waiting list (back when they first came out) then...there were fakes everywhere, every brand, every store copied. So...I lost interest too.
but...
I am still a purse-a-holic. I don't have kids...but lots of designer purses. :earboy2:

Oh my - I haven't carried a purse in so long, I need to do some research and see what is out there.

Have nothing to put in one.......... :confused3

My DH bought me a summer Louis Vuitton Murakami bag as a surprise and I couldn't believe how much I fell in love with it. None of the knockoffs remotely look like this bag, and I got compliments on it constantly. Being in NYC, I notice they have gotten particularly strict about the Louis Vuitton knockoffs so that most of them sold now no longer even have the LV logo. And, fashionistas can spot a knockoff very easily, so if you have one in your closet, as the older knockoffs fall apart, your original will stand up and be original again.

And, if folks don't want to spend their money on a bag, that's fine too. Everyone has a different idea of luxury. My former roommate collected Manolo Blahnik and Jimmy Choo shoes - that to me was insane.

Most I paid was $185...I treated myself when I got a raise at my old job. I would not spend that normally and all my other designer items worth more have been gifts.

I just found this thread...so sorry I am late.

Ok, I'll admit it... I am a COACH snob.

That is pretty much all I buy and I probably spent 300 for a bag. To each his own right :goodvibes
