DD has a good size wart right in the center of the bottom of her foot. The Dr I took her to said to take her to a foot Dr, he didn't want to remove it on a 5yo.

So I decided to try the apple cider vinegar I read about here. Last night we soaked cotton in the vinegar and taped it to the wart. This morning, the wart was all white & puffy (sorry for being gross). It was also sticking out more than it was before. It doesn't hurt her.

Does this sound right? For the esperts...do I just keep doing this? Do I have to scrape it or anything (I think I read that too)? She doesn't like me to touch the bottoms of her feet, she is extremely ticklish.

Thanks!

My daughter (8-9) had horrid warts around her toes. I was soooo sorry for her.

We got curad mediplast pads (which are treated with some acid as well), cut them up and stuck them to her feet. You're supposed to leave it on for as long as possible (like 36 hours) and then take it off. it will be white and puffy, and you are supposed to peel the white, puffy skin off, then wash the feet, apply new pads, and repeat.

I used a "corn remover" razor to shave off the hump of the wart as much as she could take.

It took months and months to get them off. I started treating in August and stopped in late December (we went for a visit and I forgot the pads, then I forgot to keep doing it when we got home) - magically, in February she said "MOM they are all GONE!".

Is it a planters wart or just a normal wart? Planters warts have a dot in them that helps them breathe and are very hard to kill. Sorry this is not the technical wording. It took us many months to get the wart to go bye bye.

If it is a plantars wart, your best option is to go to a foot doctor. My DS was 4 and got one from his older brother (everyone ended up getting at least one - they are highly contagious!). We were already familiar with the process and was able to freeze some of them off the other kids but DS12 and DS4 had the worst warts that wouldn't go away. Just a few trips to the specialist and they were gone and no pain or crying.

Plantars warts kind of look like a pimple but instead of having puss in the middle they have a hard dot which may require freezing and shaving. They also may not show up right away so you will need to keep an eye on everyone's feet for about 6 months.

My DD8 had a wart on the side of her toe and her pediatrician recommended using the little wart removal pads, I think from scholls, and cover the pad with duct tape as the lack of air made the wart go away faster. Hers was gone in about 2 weeks, and it was about 1/4 inch wide!!!

Good luck.

I think you should use white vinegar not the apple cider vinegar~atleast thats what my dd used and it worked.

I'd use the duct tape!

Cut a small piece, just large enugh to cover the wart and change it every couple of days. It will take about 2 weeks.

I haven't read the viengar treatment, but what you are describing sounds about right when I use and OTC treatment for one on my knee (before I heard about duct tape).

Are you 100% sure it's a wart? I had on my hand, what my primary Dr. told me was a wart, go see a dermatologist. Well, it wasn't. It's what's called a Pyogenic Granuloma and had to be surgically removed by a hand surgeon.

Go see a dermatologist to be sure.

The dr sid it was a plantar wart. We did the same thing again last night with the vinegar and now it has multiple black spots in it.

We tried duct tape but I don't know if the duct tape was bad or what but it wouldn't stay stuck, especially in the shower.

I used Rice vinegar since that was all I had in the house. DD's turned white and almost scabby (dont mean to gross anyone out) The middle turned black and like a scab it dried up and fell out one night in the tub. It might have taken a couple of weeks, I dont remember. I keep checking her feet every Saturday night and they have NOT come back.

The vinegar is free so I think everyone should try it once. It doenst hurt and DD just didnt like the fact that she thought she smelled like a salad for a bit.

My dd just had one for months. I finally took her to the Dr(derm) and he wouldn't remove it. He filed:scared: as much of it as he could and then had us use wart remover forn the drugstore. We would apply it at night and cover with waterproof tape and then the next night, file any dead skin and reapply the meds and the tape. It took a couple of weeks but it it all gone.

My DD went to the dr today for a wart on her finger. When it turns white and puffy scrap it as much as you can and then cover up again. I think it needs to be covered to suffocate the wart. I hope this works.

Other DD had a plantars wart on her foot and I used the home remedies here and it is GONE!!!

The vinegar and duct tape work great!!

Duct tape has been tested in controlled studies and does not work on warts. I would have a Dr. remove it. Warts are caused by a virus and can eventually go away, but usually have to be treated. A Dr. can remove it permanently. Warts can also spread if not treated properly.
