My husband's name is first because C comes before K in alphabetical order

We still have our joint account. His name is first.

However, he puts the money in and I do all the spending. I have the check book and he hasn't touched it in years

My name is first because it was a check made out to me that opened the account. My husband is joint on the account though. they used to bug him at the bank when he would want to withdraw money but we put them straight on that real quick.

Want to really mess with the IRS switch name order one year. You'll have alot of fun with that one. (please don't do this can cause a lot of problems)

My name is first. Our checking account is actually the first account I ever opened in high school! I added DH to my account when we got married and we canceled his account. I handle all of the finances, so I just put my name first. I carry the check book and he doesn't...that's why we have disney checks! We actually never use checks except for bills. We use the debit card for everything.

My name is first, it was my account before it was our account. I dont really think my dh cares as long as he doesnt have to keep up with all the bills.

DH's name is first on both of our checking accounts.

DH's name is first. I don't think we consciencely did this, I think it was done this way because that is how most people do it. It is funny though, DH very rarely writes checks, maybe just one a month.

and Chris' name used to be first - but when we bought the new house - my name is first on the Mortgage, House checking account and the Home Equity Line. Then we each have a separate checking account. ( I only use mine for an automatic debit for mutual funds).

My name is first on our regular checking and our money market account. I think just because I filled out the paperwork for both. DH doesn't seem to mind because I handle the finances for the family. We don't have separate anything and haven't since we married 12 years ago. Makes life lots easier. Have one central place for the all the bills, ATM receipts, etc.
