Inspired by new changes...Can anyone anticipate problems I might encounter?

We are headed to the World in mid-Feb. We are travelling with a large group, 4 adults, 3 children and 1 infant. In this group, there are three different "families" (me with my 3 boys, DMIL, and DSIL w/ her DH and son). We are staying at BCV and purchased the DP b/c we didn't want to hassle with splitting bills, etc. (heck, I already invited them to stay in my villa, I am not floating the bill for their food too ;) )

We plan on being together most of the trip. But if we do split up, can anyone anticipate problems we might have using the DP? Our cards will say
4A, 3C. But we may split up into smaller groups.

Thanks for any advice. I have never used the DP, since we have AP's. But I felt it would make paying for meals with separate wallets much easier.

There is still conflicting information coming in about how the enforcement will be changing starting on Monday. Regardless, as long as you don't end up ordering more than four adult meals and three child meals per "meal time" and as long as you don't try to order more than the total number of adult meals for the whole visit (4TS and 4CS per night), then you shouldn't have any problem. All the Dining Plan credits are on all the room keys, so even split up they're accessible to everyone.

We'll be there the same time. Have a great trip!

We just got back and had a party of 12 in the Grand Villa. We had 3 families in that party of 12.
We just tried to keep up with how many each family used. I kept a running tally every day, so if we got a popcorn, I made sure I wrote down how many snacks I had left.

As for ordering....you will actually have no problem splitting up. We found it much easier to go through counter service as indiviual families then as a big group.

We found ALL CM's this trip to always be helpful and let us try to get max value from our plan. For us, it seemed better to nicely ask what was allowed as this made them be more helpful, rather demanding what we wanted.

I was worried by some of the reports before I left, and was really worried about confusion in keeping track of our large party. It actually ended up A LOT easier than I thought it was going to be!!!

We are heading down in February with GMIL. Two days DH and I will be heading to a convention. So GMIL will be with our two girls. (11 and 3)

We have two rooms reserved. Our family of four in one and GMIL in the other. So my family's KTTW cards will list our dining as 3A/1C and hers will list 1A. Right?

On the days she has my girls, will their KTTW card work for their meals, or is it only linked to my and DH cards?

Edit to add: I realize Bicker might have already answered this, but if Bicker or someone can confirm my exact situation, I'd be grateful.
Thanks

I don't have personal experience with that specific situation, but have read that, for good or ill, all the Dining Plan credits are available from all the KTTK cards. You shouldn't encounter a problem as long as GMIL has DD*2's KTTK cards.

As long as you are using the DDP in a straightforward way, you shouldn't have any problems...whether your group dines together or seperately. As mentioned above, all of the cards have credits on them and it doesn't matter if you split up or not.

The one caution I would offer is to ask everyone to save their receipts and sit down once a day or so and reconcile them to be sure no huge mistakes have been made. Mistakes do occur occasionally, and the sooner you catch one the easier it will be to fix. The front desk folks at your resort will be able to resolve any questions you have. They can access all of the transactions on your DDP and can straighten out anything that pops up unexpectedly.
