DVC wasn't hit in the beginning. It took it a while to built a membership.

I joined in 93 - I almost joined in 92 - but got talked out of it.

No regrets - one of the best decision ever.

Hey, he at least got all the years in his poll while I missed a year in mine! I joined July 2004 and should have done it earlier (like maybe 1995 when I first when to WDW - who knew at that time I would back so much).

We joined in the final hour that VWL was on sale. It was about 5:30pm on February 2, 2002. BCV was going on sale the next morning.

Where are the old timers??.. Get out and vote!!
I've been a member since summer 1992 and my only regret-- I didn't buy all my points at OKW when they were so cheap. I diversivitied into BCV, BWV and VB. We almost always go to OKW so why did I ever buy those other properties?? We have only used the BWV and BCV twice. I usually rent the points for the other resorts at the 11 month point.

I toured in 1992, and thought it was a stupid idea to buy a TIMESHARE My long-suffering DH kept working on me until I got tired of hearing "It sure was a nice place". Finally, I went again, just to prove how dumb the idea was...700 points later, I still can't believe that I didn't "get it" in 1992.

Why yes there is. A poll thread only allows a maximum of 12 replies. I incorrectly ASSumed that the majority of DIS's DVCer were long-timers and had purchased in the nineties. So I kept the 'early' years and the 'later' years (for all of us newer DVCers) as single entries, grouping the millenium years as twosomes.

However, I seem to have disapointed/upset a number of users, and for that I apologize. it was my intent to quantify, not antogonize!

Trying to skew the figures a bit by combining years, are we? Well, we joined in '94 at the original DVC ... when the mountains on our membership card were a total of 3! (You'll notice that there are only 2 mountains now ... Who says that Disney can't move mountains?)
We bought VB in '95 ... We were there for the first week and got a nice coin as a momento.
