Do you think you could love somebody who are completely opposite from you in every way?

You're a liberal, they're a conservative.
You're in support of gay marriage, they aren't.
You are pro-choice, they're pro-life.
You like to eat out every night, they love to cook.
You're high strung, they're relaxed.
You're clumsy, they're graceful.
You like punk music, they prefer country.
You smoke, they don't.
You don't drink, they do.
You eat whatever, they're a health freak.
You are part of the 'green' movement, they could care less.
You like apples, they like oranges.

You get the jist. Opposite in every single way. After all that, can you still love them?

It could work. Besides, I think that all those differences would make for an inteteresting life together.

No, I want someone just like me.

I had a bf and were just like that - the complete opposite. We lasted a week. 'Nuff said.

d00d, besides the drinking, smoking, and green movement things, you just described me! ahahahah!

Okay, on-topic. I don't know. The things I bolded I could live with. Here are the reasons for the non-bolded:

Smoking. I am highly sensitive to cigarette smoke. I can't be around my dad for too long because he REEKS of smoke. Besides that, my doctors don't want me around it as long as I can help it.
Political views. I can get intense when it comes to political discussions. It would most likely just end up with one of us upset - most likely me. I know it's bad, but I can't help it.

Do I think I could love someone the complete opposite of me? Yeah. It'd just probably take a lot of work in our relationship.

Personally I couldn't deal with that.
Most of what I do has to do with what I like and what I support and if they were completely opposite I wouldn't be happy. We'd have too many arguments. I like to talk about a lot of my interests and if they completely hate them, then it would be boring.

Could it work? Maybe.
But it wouldn't with me.

I think that if two people are too similar it would get boring.

For me, I'm very opinionated and stubborn. So we could argue for hours about something and not get anywhere. We'd both just leave being upset.

I think the relationship could survive, it would just take a ton of work.

story. of. my. life.

i think itd be just perfect. we could talk about the same things without arguing over it.
'I love Barack Obama so much.'
'Yeah, me too.'

'I think octomom should've gotten an abortion.'
'Yeah, me too.'

'We should go out tonight.'
'Yeah, sounds great.'

'I care a lot about the enviroment so we should buy a hybrid.'
'Yeah, I agree.'

OH, COME ON. That is absolutely no fun at all.

Perfection is easy and boring.

actually, that sounds quite exciting!

i love it when me and my crush are talking and I jump up and down in my head when he agrees on something or we both love the same thing etc.

I think it could work, but as for me I want someone just like me.
I want someone that I can call my other half, someone that likes the things I like. I think it makes a relationship much more special. But that's just me.

every single way? no. i couldn't love that. simply because we'd get down to certain moral standpoints that neither of us could compromise and that would be the breaking point. i could over come a lot. i could look past even more than that. but certain morals i would have to uphold.

I guess I can see it from your view point.

But for me, I need a little excitement. I don't want full blown arguing all the time, but I think it'd be fun to see how he re-acted to us having a different opinion on something. I think it'd be cute.

Me and the (very cute) guy who sits next to me argue about Twilight of all things. Banter and such is adorable to me, but I'm a very snarky person anyway, lol.

I think it could work. Life gets boring if two people are too similar. Though, I must admit that I would like someone similar to me but they don't have to be. I think it would be best if there was a mix, agree on half of the things and disagree on the other half.

Depends.

Some things, never (ie, if they are/were against gay marriage, I wouldn't even be friends with you). Some things (music differences, etc) I could take. Just some things, like religion, I would not STAND.

You would not date someone who was religious?

Maybe?

If we are really good friends and get along, and generally enjoy each other :)

Right now? At the moment? No.
Absolutely not. Infact i have this MAAJORR crush on this guy who i have everything in common with (right down to favorite brand of ice creams!) :o
so..
ye know.. :o
