Inspired by "Do you bowl with..." New Duckpin Record

After the thread about tenpins, candlepins and duckpins it was kind of ironic to read in yesterday's paper that the Rhode Island state duckpin scoring record had been broken. The old record of 258 had been done twice, but on 11-9 Ed Evans of Johnston, RI threw a 264. The world record is 279 by a gentleman from CT. Now do you see how hard duckpins can be?

In the aforementioned thread I mentioned that I thought the all-time high in candlepins is 244; it is actually 245. I cheated some poor guy out of a pin Let's see Walter Ray Williams beat that!

duckpins look just like regular tenpins, just shorter; the ball is about the size of a softball and weighs no more than 3 lbs 12 ozs.

Duckpins!! LOL! I bowled them once about a million years ago. I think I was at an alley down near the RI border.

Candlepins are fun but frustrating and before my back got bad I use to belong to a league. My high score was 117.

Anyone from MA remember the candlepin show that was on Channel 5 Saturday at noon? I watched that every week for years. Now there's one on that comes out of NH but it's not as good.
