Oh my goodness, there are so many I could tell! I've ridden since I was four, and my horse has...emm.. a sense of humor
My favorite is probably a trail ride that I went on with some friends about two years ago. I call our rides at my friend Susie's house "Susie's Trail Rides of Death" because they usually go on for at least six hours, and someone always comes back bleeding. We usually go off the main trails to explore the woods, and at one point while riding down a side trail, we came to a huge pile of tree branches around three and a half feet high, which was completly blocking the trail. I walked my horse up to it to try to look for a way around, and while I was looking, he decided to take it upon himself to find a way over, and jumped it!! I'd just recently been teaching him to jump, and we'd been working on about two foot fences, so to have him hop over something that tall was quite a surprise! In fact, I ended up sitting on his neck when he landed

Everyone was fascinated that I didn't fall off, which started a legacy, but more about that in a minute
Later in that same ride, the lady in front of me let go of a low tree branch that she had pulled out of the way, and it smacked my horse in the chest. He took off, and before I could slow him down, there was a tree branch at neck-level. I didn't have time to duck, so the thing hit my neck, and it took a second before I could get free from it. The branch was about an inch thick, so it bent with me, keeping the pressure on my throat while I was going forward, but it didnt break. When I got past it, I literally though I had been decapitated, which caused me to say "Wow, I'm dead, and I'm still on the horse! I never do fall off, do I?"

I had a HUGE red mark across my neck for about a week after that!
A week later at a riding lesson, it had rained that morning, and while I was running, my horse slipped in a patch of mud. She fell over flat sideways, right on top of my leg, as... you guessed it- I was still in the saddle

"I'm on the ground, and I'm still on the horse!" That one resulted in some huge bruises all up and down my right side, which I was actually quite proud of because I got to compare them with the girl who does roman riding at work, who had been having a rough week. (Roman riding is when you stand with one foot on the back of each of two horses. Her team had been acting up and splitting her apart, causing her to do the splits and then fall off- OUCH!)
There are a million stories, but I'm late for work, so I guess those have to wait!
