Inspired by "10 fashion trends..." What current trends/fads do you hate?

I don't know if this is a fashion trend - but tattoos!

And pointy toe shoes. I have wide feet and all these pointy toes kill me!

There are SO many "trends" that I HATE.....thank goodness my kids still care more about comfort than fashion.....

tatoos....yeah - they'll look pretty when you're old and wrinkly worst of all, they are permanent.

thongs that show above your pants.....oh (and my not-so-skinny 40 y.o. SIL is guilty here.....) and PLEASE - black thongs under white see-thru shorts? not sexy folks!

piercings - especially nose rings and those huge washer-style earrings that leave holes big enough to hang a candy cane in your ear (happened at nephew's H.S.) Only plastic surgery will close THOSE gaps!

Words on girls rear ends. Really, do I want some pervert looking at my pre-teen daughters backside? Don't we have enough trouble already?

I don't mind the bra strap showing as much as others do - at least they HAVE a bra on! Worse, IMO, is a large-chested girl *bouncing* around without *support*

Oh - and those ridiculous platform shoes. I'm surprised more ankles aren't broken.

I hate the pants that fall kind of mid-calf length. DISGUSTING! I grabbed a pair of pants to try on today thinking they were NORMAL pants! They were that weird length. YUCK!

I love low rise jeans...not the really low kind, but the normal low rise I really like. They fit great. I did have to buy some "low rise" undies at Victoria's Secret so when I bent down or leaned over my underwear wasn't showing. Don't like when the underwear shows.

What I hate is that so much stuff is made out of that stretch stuff. Ick...especially since I gained so much weight while pregnant.

And what IS it with maternity designers and not putting pockets on pants?

I always complained about that, too! I had one pair of jeans that had pockets. Most of my shorts had pockets, but none of my jeans or shorts had back pockets! That bugged me the most because I have a habit of hooking my thumbs in my back pockets when I'm standing for a while.

Ooooh I LOVE low-waist jeans. I'm 6' tall and am VERY short waisted. When I wear pants that fit at the waist I look like I have no body at all. Low-rise jeans make me look proportional, at last!

Personally, I don't like the Birkenstock and socks trend (especially the clog Birks) that I see kids wearing all over the school where I work. Sloppy!

That bugged me too but GAP maternity and Liz lange at Target have pants with pockets on the front and back Thankfully! I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't look normal. I love the fact women are showing off their bellies too. Nothing worse than looking like a tent while your pregnant!

My oldest dd is tall and is short waisted. She has to wear the low rise pants.
I don't mind them, or the belly piercings, or the bra straps showing. I don't mind the bras showing through the tops.
I do mind the thong showing, and I do mind the boys jeans hanging down to their knees. You would think that since they see others dressed like that, that they would see how silly it really looks.

well actually the washer style earings with the big holes in the ears, well you dont need plastic surgery to close those holes because my friend had it done as big enough to put a straw in and then she had it out over the night an it shrank back to the normal size of a regular piercing and if the surgry thing was a joke uh sorry!

anyway i hate the trucker hat thing and the whole so called punk look sorry but wearing a shirt that says gc with chucks an a spike braclet is anything but punk and it gives a bad name to the people who wear converse!really big hoop earings, when people were the low rise jeans too low .ok ill stop ranting now

What are trucker hats?

Those are those ugly arsed baseball cap looking hats that have wide, wide brims and are usually a cloth front with a net back.

Or at least that's what we call 'trucker hats' around here.

I wear the low rise jeans. I wear the bra strap showing. I somtimes wear my shirt showing a little of my belly. Yes, I wear a thong, and sometimes you can see them. I do have a tattoo on my lower back (butterfly).

I am a young kewl hip-hop mom and not to mention sexy too But when I am around other moms or parents at school, I wear something more conservative. I am very petitte and I wear the juniors size and they have the trendy styles. When I am at work, I am all business, professional look.

I DO NOT have any pierced on my body. I don't care for it.

i love those pants! i wear them all the time especially during spring when its not warm enough for shorts yet.

Wow.. you all would have a field day with me. All of my jeans are low-rise. I do agree that if you don't have the body for them you shouldn't wear them. If you look good in them, why not? My belly shows with some of my shirts,I have several monogrammed items, I have sweats and cheer shorts with words on my behind and I wear thongs all the time. I have a tattoo as well. I must say, I look pretty darn good most of the time, so I see no problem embracing these trends.
I personally don't like the trucker hats, but a lot of my friends do. I think the huge pants and shirts (punk/grunge) are absolutely hideous. It's hard to tell if there is a person hiding under there sometimes. They are very unflattering. JMHO

I like them too...mostly because I can't find normal length pants in my leg length. My legs are very short and so it's hard to find regular pants that both fit in the hips/butt and the leg.

This isn't actually a really new trend, but I hate men and boys NOT wearing socks - always looks dirty to me.

Also, don't like pants which look like the crotch is down to the knees or lower - looks like a fully loaded diaper.
