Inspire testing options?

Thank you. I want to use Inspire because being the morning that we have to leave I want to have the test proctored and not having to upload results from a third party vendor and chance something go wrong.
Agreed! It was a few more $$ but worth the convenience!

We are planning to set sail on July 28th. This was our experience with ordering:
- at the 15 day window (on 7/13 at 9 AM) we uploaded our vaccine cards
- within about 30 hours (on 7/14 at 2:30 PM), our vaccine cards were "approved" and we received an email letting us know
- once the vaccine cards are approved you can order the proctored covid test through Safe Passage, so we ordered them on 7/14 around 3:30 PM
- we received an email on 7/15 that the tests had shipped
- the tests arrived on 7/16 in the morning

Our testing is scheduled for 7/26, so we received our at-home tests 10 days ahead of the testing appointment time and 12 days ahead of sailing. Plenty of time!

Good Luck :)

Thanks for the details. This helps a lot. Please confirm for me, I don't want to mess this up. It sounds like I do not need to make an appointment with Inspire Diagnostics prior to the 15 day window. After they accept our vaccination cards, the booking opens with Inspire on Safe passage and plenty of proctored appointments will be available?? Thanks much.

Yes, there is nothing you can do before the 15 day window. At the 15 day window you will create your Safe Passage account and upload photos of your vaccine card. Then, you wait for them to approve it before you are able to order the Inspire testing through Safe Passage (this was confusing to me as I thought I would be able to order it when I made the account). It took about 30 hours to get the vaccine card approved. Once it was approved, we received an email letting us know. Then you can login to Safe Passage and order the test. For us, it was 14 days before the cruise when we were able to order the tests. When you order the tests you select an appointment time and there were times from 12 AM to 11:30 PM available when I went to book my appointment. The test came quickly (2 days later), the proctoring appointment went smoothly, and our results were uploaded instantaneously. Good Luck 🙂

So sorry one more question! Did you have to make an appointment for everyone in your party or just one appointment. I have 4 people in my family. Thank you so much this has been very very helpful!!!

We have already cruised a few times post covid but it was when they were testing at the port. Inspire already has our vaccine cards uploaded and we didnt have to upload them again on subsequent cruises. Does this mean we can schedule our test appointment right away at the 15-day mark?

No worries :).

We are a party of 2 (first time sailing without the kiddos). We were able to make one appointment for the two of us. I read somewhere that you are able to schedule 2 people for each appointment but I can't definitively say that for sure.

Good Question! Let us know how it goes :)

Thanks a bunch, so helpful!!!!

Great info, this supervised testing is such a worry despite all 4 of us being vax and double booster getting everyone together for the proctoring is stressful. hoping bySept 28 all this proctoring will be cancelled and we just need vax cards!

I am hoping it ends before Sept 12 but I am doubtful.

In some ways, it was easier to just show up at the port and be handed the swab. (Easier for those who tested negative at least.) It didn't require any advance planning or worry about making an appointment and how it's timing works for any of us prior to travel or whether we're gonna screw it up at all.
On the other hand, to have the green light and not all be herded at the port for an extra hour while waiting on pins and needles within full view of the ship, well that is much better. At least if you test positive while still at home, you can cancel your flight and hunker down.

I used Onpoint bring your test. It was 14.99. 30 minutes for results and about 30 minutes after I uploaded it to get clear to sail. This was prenetics.

I haven’t used inspire, but I plan on going with Onpoint again in Sept. 14.99 vs 150 for three of us. No brainer to me.

What's the difference between Onpoint and Prenetics? Is it the same company?

Two Follow Up Questions for Inspire:

On Point offers testing 24/7. What are the Online testing hours for Inspire? We are thinking of doing the test super early before we fly out.

How many test kits can you order from Inspire (if I mess up the first, I'd like to have an extra on hand)?

We also found a neighborhood pharmacy that will do The same! Testing on Wednesday, Thursday we go to Saratoga springs so we fly in the day before cruise to make sure there’s no plane cancellations and we miss the sailing…board the Wish Friday 9/30!!! Things are beginning to fall into place

I just happened to find this lab while looking on NCL's website for ds22. It's not far from us but not on the roads we typically travel. Slightly off the beaten path. I'd never have found it by just driving by. NCL's website offers a link saying 'find a lab near you' and just enter your zip code. So easy. Why can't DCL site have this? Maybe some kind of kickback thing with Inspire. I'd much rather drive 3 miles and do it in person for free than to deal with doing it by phone and pay $50/person.
