So if you go to Inspire Diagnostics through Safe Passage you have to pay $93/test. If you just go to https://inspirediagnostics.com/ you can order the tests for free! I thought this is what everyone was doing but I continue to hear on different podcasts that the tests are $93 each.

I think it may depend where you live. In my state, all tests must be no charge to the patient. Other states allow charging for asymptomatic people or those testing for travel. Does the direct-order allow for the quick turn-around required by DCL?

So it's interesting. I quickly typed that post while I was ordering. This time it said to go through safe passage if you were a DCL customer which I did not do. We previously sailed and this disclaimer was not shown the first time.

But yes, it comes with a UPS envelop which is for overnight shipping. We got our results in about 36 hours on our last trip. We also did an expedited PCR for the kids just be to sure we had a negative test in hand before we flew down to FL.

Hello! We were hoping to order the kit because we are traveling to Disneyland for a pre trip stay, and we leave home 4 days before the cruise (horrible planning in restrospect)

if I’m reading correctly you can’t get into safe passage until 15 days prior. Has everyone found the delivery of the test after ordering to be a quick turnaround? Hopefully I’m stressing unnecessarily.

The other option appears to be an expensive test at the Anaheim hotel, and I don’t love the idea of hauling my 3 year old there on our first day at Disneyland but if that’s what it takes I’ll do it. Thoughts?

thanks in advance!

Since there is free testing at the port what would be the purpose of ordering this test?

Unvaccinated children (<5 yrs old) must be tested 24 hours to up to 3 days prior to sailing. Then they are tested again at embarkation. But the pre-arrival test is on the family to arrange.

Technically since it’s for travel using the ‘free’ option which for most insurances require ‘symptoms’ isn’t qualifiable. I know we ordered a ‘free’ one in September and it met the time frame. We had to fight insurance to cover it since it’s out of state-

we used them again in January and due to weather they did NOT get back in time for sailing

oh no, what happened? Did you have an under 5 that required it?

it’s crazy when we booked this over a year ago I didn’t imagine we’d be in this situation- I thought he’d either be vaccinated or protocol would be different.

I wonder what if any option is available if this Disney-partnered test result didn’t come back in time. Thankfully with it being April and numbers going down good weather and lower testing volume are on our side.

but, if I’ve learned anything from Covid- sometimes even the best planning can be futile!
