Inspiration needed please.....

Hi Guys

My first 'post' on here, have only posted on the 'planning' forum before, so please be gentle

We are off to WDW in a couple of weeks time but DH has said that he would like us to do a couple of holidays abroad this year instead of just our usual fortnight. Now I'm guessing you are all addicted to holidaying at WDW so I may well be asking for inspiration in the wrong place but....

We are wanting to book a week/fortnight abroad but only a short plane trip, 3ish hours maximum from the UK I guess and would like to book a villa and need to go during the school summer hols. We would never usually go away at this time of year as we don't like it too hot but DH thinks it would be a good idea to make use of DD's six weeks off and get away somewhere. We don't seem to relax quite the same if we stay in the UK hence we are thinking of braving the heat.....

Any ideas?? Italy?? Spain??

Just wondering if anyone has had such a wonderful holiday in Europe that they feel the need to share Any feedback gratefully received

We're not beachy types at all so we love the Center Parcs in Holland. We drive ourselves via Eurotunnel - I don't know how dear it is now that the pound has flopped against the Euro but last year it was cheaper to have a ween in August in Holland than the same week in England.

We've also done a similar (but more basic) holiday in Denmark but the ferry crossing took 18 hours.

We are going through the same dilema at the moment as were not going back to WDW until August next year.

Like Libby, we have also taken a Center Parcs holiday in Holland (near De Efterling theme park which was great). Last year it work out very cheap at October half term but with the Euro strength it's not so cheap now - but it was a fantastic holiday for a week - the girls (3 & 6) still talk about it a lot.
Although it is a longer drive then three hours (more like six).

This was a very enjoybale holiday too.
With a very short flight (1hr 45min) and a short twenty minute hop to the hotel it was great as we were on the rides on the afternoon that we'd left home!

We had a couple of really nice holidays in Gibraltar a few years ago. It is about a two hour flight from Gatwick and close enough to Spain to take day trips there.
