Insomnia?

The extra stress I seem to be under is manifesting itself with insomnia. I fall asleep fine, but wake up in the middle of the night and am up 1 1/2 to 2 hours--last night I woke up at 3 and just didn't get back to sleep (I get up at 6). DH owns a business and hasn't paid himself in several pay periods, so we have used up a lot of savings and used my paychecks, but he should be getting paid this week and things seem to be turning around, so I don't know why I'm still having trouble.
Any remedies for this? I swear, if I'd had my CC upstairs early this AM I'd have bought an Ab Scissors, a Little Giant ladder and a shark steam cleaner!;)

DH has a Little Giant Ladder - he loves it!

Hope things turn around for you soon. Sounds like your troubles come from stress. Happy relaxing!

I know when I'm under stress I have a very hard time falling asleep and I toss and turn. Once things settle down a bit, you should be fine. Your sub-concious may not realize things are turning around. I always have this problem. I know I'm so crabby when I don't get enough sleep.

I hope things get better...Atleast "resting" a while should help somewhat.

Take care!

I have had insomnia for 15 years, and can't "fix" myself. However, whenever my DH has a time-period of stress-related insomnia, a little bit of melatonin or even a benadryl for a couple of days seems to break the cycle. Good luck!

Its hard in times like those. I get plagued with insomnia in the fall usually (i think) becuase of the weather changing. Eventually, your body will need to rest or collapse and will. You just may have to wait a few days. When i would be kept up, i would try to do something half-productive...watch a movie i've been wanting to, or do a little extra reading.

Good Lcuk!:teeth:

I have exactly the same problem. I fall asleep, but wake up, sometimes after only 15 minutes. And I can be stuck wide awake all night. Often I was still roaming around when the alarm went off.

I found that one thing that broke the cycle was to take one Tylenol PM. Just one never left me with that hung over feeling the next day. And it really did not put me to sleep. But once I got to sleep it allowed me to have some deep quality sleep.

I will be following this thread closely to see what advice others have.
