I have never been inside Sleeping Beauty's castle before when I have been to the park but from what I saw on a DVD that Disneyland sent us to help plan the trip it looks like you can go through the castle. Is that really the case? Where is the entrance? Is it worth it?

Yes, it's called... wait for it.... The Castle Walk-Through :goodvibes

The entrance is on the Fantasyland side of the castle off to the side a little. You'll see it when you are there.

You go up into part of the castle and walk-through as the story of Sleeping Beauty is presented before you in very cool life-size diorama-like display windows. Self-paced.

Add it to your list - it's pretty cool.

The entrance is on the Fantasyland side, near BBB. It is a small doorway that can easily be missed. I love going through and looking at the dioramas. It's worth a look!

The walkthrough isn't long, but it is worth doing. The artwork for the dioramas was done by some of the artists who worked on the film Sleeping Beauty, a film which some believe is Disney's most beautiful animated film.

To me the walkthrough underscores what makes Disneyland so special. It's not a marquee attraction like Peter Pan's Flight or Space Mountain, but it's full of charm and incredible artwork.

Thank you for posting this! I had no idea you could even do this! When we were there in November my kids asked if you can go into the castle and I said I didn't think so! We walked "through" the castle but obviously missed the door!! Thank you, this is definately on the list of must do's when we go in July!!

It's great to do if you want to do something in Fantasyland, but it's midday and all of the rides have long lines. Also, there's some really neat technological visual effects that they employ.

There's a decent scare for little ones too when you get to the dungeon doors near the end of the walkthrough. I enjoy it :)

We enjoyed it on our trip last week.
It was nice seeing the story as you're walking thru a castle.
:cutie:

I really enjoy the walkthrough, and if you have never seen it, I definitely recommend it. The entrace will be on your left if you enter through the Castle from the Hub. The door can be easy to miss as it's not a huge grand entrance by any means, but there is a sign above the door. My only complaints about it are that it can get a little stuffy in there, especially midday when the weather is hot. But other than that, I love it.

If you want to see any photos from it (including the sign that marks where the entrance is) I posted photos about it on this part of one of my past Trip Reports: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39710549&postcount=652

Its definitely not mentioned much - I think we'd been to DLR at least a half dozen times before I realized that the door there wasn't a CM area! Its pretty cute, very worth the 5 min in air conditioning. :goodvibes

Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney film because of the art design so I love seeing work by some of the brilliant artists who worked on that film and the walkthrough itself, especially late at night when the park is less crowded.
