Sure, I've had the obscene caller (not since my youth tho, how do they know I'm old now anyway??) and, the wrong numbers received but, how many of you have overheard another conversation while on a cordless or cell phone or, even a baby monitor??

While talking on a cordless phone with my girlfriend years ago, I overheard my Mom (she lived 2 houses away) talking to my Aunt about ME and the morning I had been through. I had returned from my high school sweetheart's funeral and, she was recounting everything I told her about it, including my emotions!!

I had a hard time telling her how upset I was about her 'sharing' my story but only because of the 'method' in which I 'heard' about it.

There has to be juicier stories than this tho. ;)

What did you hear that you weren't supposed to?

This is a weird one..

DH was supposed to fly to Atlanta to help his Aunt move here on Sept 12, 2001. Well, you know what happend to his flight. His Aunt was to drive down the day before, Sept 11. So after we realized what was happening, in the afternoon we tried to call her cell phone to see if she would turn around and drive back to get him. I tried for 3 hours to get through. One time ,it rang, someone picked up, real far away, I could hear "I can only get within about six blocks, Mike, but she is in there" and then it went all to all static. Will never, ever forget that. Burned into my memory forever.

Girls Scout Leader, that must have given you chills.

Once I turned on the baby monitor in our room before in the babies room and heard my next door neighbor on the phone - clear as day talking about us and what terrible people we were. It was really hard to turn it off and not eaves drop - after that DH wanted a scanner (I think it was a scanner to pick up conversations, is that right?) but I didn't think that was a good thing. But then the neighbor went on to tell us that if we had a cordless phone, chances were that she was able to listen into our conversations. Taught me a lesson, I never use the cordless for important calls anymore - especially giving our personal information or credit card info.

DH heard our neighbors arguing on our baby monitor. He immediately shut it off when he realized what it was. The only thing Ive ever heard on our baby monitor was another baby crying. I kept running upstairs to check on DS, but he was sleeping soundly every time. I couldnt figure it out becaue the other baby sounded just like DS.

I once overheard a conversation between a girl and her Dad on Father's Day. The conversation upsets me to this day.

I was at my parent's house and was trying to make a call when I heard two voices. The girl sounded like she was a pre-teen and she was BEGGING her father to come see her. The Dad  was giving her every excuse in the world.

The poor thing cried through the whole conversation while "Daddy of the Year" tapdanced around where he was going to be that day...

My heart just BROKE for her.

After a few minutes of listening to it I hung up and went in the back and hugged my Dad!

We do have a scanner and have heard some interesting things over the years (when we put it on, which is rarely).

This wasn't on the phone, but Ted and i were eating dinner on the deck last summer and heard our neigbor describing his bathroom experience (in real time) to his wife. She replied, "Have some decency!" and then we heard the bathroom door slam! =)

I was in hysterics! I can only imagine what conversations of ours they have overheard!

Holly:o

When our DD was just a baby we lived in a 4 unit condo building. Two up and two down. Through the baby monitor I heard the teenage girl next to us talking to a friend about a mutual teenaged friend who was pregnant and didn't know what to do and hadn't told her parents yet. I was sooooo taken aback. They spoke of it as if it was no big deal and how cool it was.:( I turned off the monitor in disgust.

Our computer phone line ALWAYS picks up conversations, I only use that phone if I have to though, it's quite annoying. One of the more interesting things I heard on it was a man and a woman making a date lol. They were talking about wherey the should eat dinner at, and he was giving her directions to his house. She kept giggling, he kept making jokes, it was cute :)
