I heard that Innoventions West in Epcot is closing!!
is this true? if so what are they going to do with the place?

Do not be alarmed by the other poster; a new experience is on its way. We don't know the specifics yet, or if it will continue to use the Innoventions brand. Just rest assured that the space will return in the near future.I heard that Innoventions West in Epcot is closing!!

I'd like to be optimistic but disney has done this before saying something will come to a space and nothing does. I haven't seen anything come up in permits or anything so i don't think this will be a quick turn around to something new.Do not be alarmed by the other poster; a new experience is on its way. Funny you say 'experience'. Doesn't really narrow the field much when it comes to putting something new inside that doesn't follow the same vein as the two places I mentioned.
If you've got proof of something remotely substantial I'm all ears.
That's not relevant. Even if the new offering stinks, it still has reopened.Given the sites I mentioned plus the half-gutted Journey Into Imagination I'm not holding my breath for that something, should it even materialize, to be of any consequence.
Keep in mind @rteetz, Innoventions was a cheap area that entertained a lot of guests. They honestly had no reason to close it for financial purposes. It just doesn't make sense to just close it.I'd like to be optimistic but disney has done this before saying something will come to a space and nothing does. I understand that but wonders of life entertained people too and that closed. I just don't see something going there very quickly I'm sure something will show up but it could be years from now.Keep in mind @rteetz, Innoventions was a cheap area that entertained a lot of guests. That was a whole building with multiple rides and attractions. Innoventions? Just some simple little glorified play areas that involved minimal upkeep. If they didn't have immenient plans for the building, they might as well have not closed it down. That's what gets me. Wonders of Life, I get closing that down. It's big and expensive. Innoventions? Nope.I understand that but wonders of life entertained people too and that closed. I just don't see something going there very quickly I'm sure something will show up but it could be years from now.
So why close down the backlot, American idol, and more in DHS when the park already has so little. They obviously weren't ready for what they are going to do. You'd think they would want capacity at that park. Again I'm not doubting that something will come to the space I just think it will be a while. That was a whole building with multiple rides and attractions. Innoventions? Both of those require much more upkeep then Innoventions, and American Idle is going to be reused less then a year after closure. Backlot is a unique situation. It's fate is riding on a multi hundred million dollar approval process by the board. I can't say exactly why they did what they did, but they must of thought it was a good idea at the time.So why close down the backlot, American idol, and more in DHS when the park already has so little. Is this sarcasm or seriously asking?Hey what happened to River Country and Discovery Island!
