I'm thinking of getting a tattoo. Does anyone here have one? If so...

Do you regret it?
Did it hurt a lot, or a little, or not at all?
What did you get?
Do you have more than one?
Where did you get it?
Did you get any kind of infection (safety first!)?

I have two.

At this point, I do not regret mine at all.
I have my son's name and a chinese symbol which means "Miracle"...this one is also for my son.

One is on my calf and the other is on the inside of my ankle!

I didn't get any infection...but I was very diligent about my tattoos. I washed mine with Ivory Soap a few times a day and kept them lotioned heavily with Vaseline Lotion. I had no peeling at all.

I don't think mine hurt. It's a little uncomfortable...especially for my large one on my calf. But, it's not pain...it's more annoying. It feels kinda like you're being hit with a rubber band repeatedly.

I have 4 tattoos 3 on my arms, 1 on my chest. For me it was an uncomfortable feeling, I wouldn't say it hurt. My sister on the other hand who has 6 tattoos will tell you it feels like being cut with a razor blade. So it all depends on your pain tolerance level. I don't regret any one of my tattoos and I'm all ready planning on my next two. I have never gotten an infection, but I've allways kept them clean and used A&D ointment on them.

I also have 2. One on my left shoulder of some flowers(will be adding 2 hummingbirds to it soon) and the latest is a hybiscus with the chinese symbol for friend on my inner right ankle.

The one on my back didn't hurt at all. The ankle one did... felt like electrical shocks running up my leg. No infections and just minor peeling.

No regrets with either of them. That said, after adding the hummingbirds I'm done. I've met my quota!!

i have one - a small heart with a tear drop on my left shoulder. didn't hurt but a little.

I am also going to get snoopy put on the iside of my right ankle. Not sure when -- afraid that one will hurt
And then I will be done. Each means something to me. Heart one is easy to figure out and the snoopy will be in my moms memory. she got hers done about a year before she died unexpectly. both my sister also had snoopy done.

I have six and want one more!!!!

The only one that hurt was the one on the back of my neck that I got on the Vegas Strip.

I would say the others were bothersome but almost enjoyable. I'm weird though, LOL!

I have 3; 2 on my left leg, a few inches above the ankle bone, and one on the right, same place. They didn't hurt at all - in fact, I rather like the way it feels to get tattooed! No regrets whatsoever and I look forward to getting more. The 2 on my left leg are the symbol from Duran Duran's "New Moon on Monday" video, and above that, a sun to symbolize "(Reach Up For the) Sunrise." The one on my right leg is an Egyptian Eye of Horus. Never got infected, although with my first one, I got concerned because it bled for 8 hours straight.

I want this for my fourth...

Just the guy, not the background, and I want his robes to be done in shades of blue and green, since Cancer is a water sign. I just don't know if I want it on my back or my arm (leaning toward arm, so I can look at it).

Did it hurt a lot, or a little, or not at all? depends on the place... my shoulder really hurt, and my foot and toe REALLY hurt. Ankle wasnt too bad.
What did you get? A bunch of stuff. I do have the DisneyQuest logo on my right shoulder... no outline. Just pinkish-red, with ppurple shadowing.
Do you have more than one? Yes
Where did you get it? Several places
Did you get any kind of infection (safety first!)? No...not at all.

I agree with many posters... other than the foot and toe one, its more of a really intense "scratching" ... it doesnt hurt,....just irritated.

The foot freaking hurt though. And toe??

I don't have any, but DD21 just got her second one this past week. Her first is on her right hip and is of a shooting star and she never had any problems with it, and she said it didn't hurt anything like what she expected it would. She is deathly afraid of needles and hates pain, so I was surprised she went through with it.

Her second was more painful, but it is across the top of her foot, so she knew it was going to hurt more. It is a frog and covers most of the top of her foot. I haven't seen it yet, but she sent a pic and it's cute. Bigger than I thought, but she likes it.

I have one tattoo that goes almost all the way across my lower back. I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt at all. I don't regret it one bit! I love my tattoo so much! The worst part of the pain was the outline - when it was being done, the closer the artist got to my spine the more pain I was in. It got to a point where he had to stop for a minute so I could drink a soda because I started to feel like I was going to pass out. Once the outline was over and the coloring began, I was fine!

I kept mine moist with A&D for 2 weeks. Never had any peeling or major scabbing.

On my arm, no, on my right shoulder YES, but it was after for a couple days, felt like a bad sunburn, on the middle of my spine, that felt good I am not even kidding I fell asleep!!

Arm, a tribal I designed, on shoulder, a tribal sun with my daughters zodiac sign I designed...its purrty (in various colors), and the mid back one is a dragon I designed.

3 as stated above, and ready for another!!

Arm was done by a friend in California, shoulder done in a tat shop in Florida, spine done in a tag shop in Maryland

Nope, I washed and took care of all three, oh and kept them out of the sun, very important!!

Be sure you get yours for the right reason and it is something you won't mind looking at(or being looked at) for the rest of your life. To quote Jimmy "It's a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling". That being said, I have 3. A parrot on my left shoulder, a trible arm band on my right and a lizard on my right lower leg.
They didn't really hurt. I don't regret them at all. No infection and I used cocoa butter to keep them from scabing up too bad.

I will be the first to respond that yes, I do regret mine a bit. I don't regret getting one, nor do I regret the image I chose. However, I do regret the location on my body that I chose to place it. If you draw an imaginary line from your hip to your belly button, I put it right in the middle of that line. 2 pregnancies later and it is severly distorted.

Once I can save up enough for that tummy tuck, it will become a memory and a science project in a jar somewhere.
