Inkedupmomma's 1st PTR ever! Home sweet home..ugh.. TR started..link is up!

Hey inkedupmomma, did you do any more shopping this weekend? ;) :woohoo:

I think I may finally be done with our shopping.:wizard: I am going on a business trip next week so I got all of the small stuff for that trip and just got enough for WDW too. :goodvibes

Ok, so we finally did our shopping!! It was a pretty successful day.. although I found NOTHING for myself :( I swear they make sneakers so narrow now! There are lots of people with fat feet still around! Maybe I'll start a movement?? The wide feet association? Ok, so let's start with store number 1,

Best Buy: There we bought 3 new 2gb memory cards for our digital camera, they were only 42.99!! That may be more then online prices, but I was amazed none the less in the drop in price for these cards!!Less then 3 years ago they cost $50.00 for one measly 512 mb card! So in my heart I got a steal lol! We also got DD a car charger for her Nintendo Ds and tapes for our video camera (these were also a lot cheaper then I recall from our 2005 Disney trip). Oh Ds also picked out a cars game for the wii... why did I buy it you ask, considering he is only 2?? Idk why.. maybe because it was 19.99?? or maybe because I was in shopping mode?? Who knows.. I have a spending problem.

ok, moving right along

Babies r Us: We were here for a while as we wanted the PERFECT double stroller!! I was bummed to see the store did not carry nearly as many options as online does..silly me for thinking other wise ;/ none the less we tried every stroller a million times and ended up with a chicco double stroller. The price was right, it moved nicely, the kids said it was comfy, the seat reclined for laying down, the color was nice, it had a god amount of basket room underneath and most importantly DS could not unbuckle it!! I don't think I've explained what a Houdini he is!! That kid can unlock, undo anything!! His strength and determination are crazy for only 2 years old!! Luckily the buttons are kinda hidden on this and tight, so he is not able to get out!!:woohoo: That was the real selling feature! We also got his annual skeleton sweat suit and DD a new booster seat for the car. While asking about the different boosters, the lady said well how old is she 2 or 4?? I was like uhm.. almost 8! Shes a tiny lil' thing!! We didn't intend on getting her a new seat, but there it was on sale, in leopard print, and the exact thing she needed!! We've been meaning to get one, so I figured now is the perfect time, it will be all new and comfy for the long ride to Florida, and it has lights on it, so she can read without turning the car lights on!! (I hate when she does that because she often forgets to turn them off, and it drains the battery) All in all we were quite successful here.

next...

Old Navy: Well.... not a whole lot of luck here ;/ I was hoping to find DD school clothes, and the rest of us some new gear.. Not so much :( I found a few things, but not entirely too much. I did score some cool skull items though. A bright pink pair of bermuda shorts with black skulls on them, a black and hot pink sweater vest with a skull as it's logo (kinda like the ralph lauren horse, but cooler lol), a skully pair of leggings and a black and gray long cardigan with another skull logo! As you can see, we like our skulls!!

I should also take time to mention that at Old Navy I found a really cute and ultra cheesy Hawaiian shirt for Jack to wear to the Spirit of Aloha diner!! Did I mention that it is orange, and Jack just about had a heart attack! That kid loves the color orange!

Ok, so after this was all said and done, we had to eat!! The kids were pretty restless (out of their minds) at this point. So we went to our fave place Cheeburger Cheeburger

They are all over the U.S.A. so if you have one near you and have not tried it.. do so!! Then again, we are obsessed with all things 50's, so this place is perfect for us! The milk shakes rock my world too!

Ok, after we rolled out of there.. seriously, we were soo full!! We headed to the mall which is literally in the same shopping plaza.. also in that shopping plaza is sesame place, it was such a nice day out, so sad we couldn't stop by there to play for a bit. ;/ once at the mall we hit up Boscov's first. I don't normally shop here, but Kayla's grandmother bought her some super ugly white trash clothing there for school, and it HAD to be returned (yes I know that I sound like a snob) When we got there we saw signs that everything was 30-70% off! They are going out of business! I was able to get Kayla a pair of really cute leopard ballerina flats for $5.98!! I had bought the same pair at Bloomingdales last year for almost $30.00!! Needless to say I was psyched! Boscov's also sells crocs, so i bought Kayla a new pair of brown mary jane ones and Jack an orange pair to match his orange Hawaii print shirt! While there Df(John) was able to get some really rad shorts!! I had a gift card there and got another one that day after returning the hideous clothes, so all I had to pay was $51.97 at the end! I was stoked!

After Boscov's we hit up many shoe stores.. John and I found...NADA!!! Sneakers are the ugliest I have ever seen, and cut so stupid!! So after me finding now shoes or clothes, we have decided to wait and go back solo. Maybe it will be easier to find stuff with the kids there? All I need really, is a couple shirts, bottoms and new sneakers, and all he needs is some tops and sneakers/sandals.

Once that was done, we hit up journeyz kidz... I hate the z at the end.. There I got Kayla cuteyyyy vans, and a pair of dc's

catalog_detail.aspx

Unfortunately, I can not find the dc's..

Next stop was gap kids... Pretty much wasn't jazzed at the selection, so opted not to spend money. I did however get Jack new converse for $19.50!! That's not a bad price!

After this the mall was closing :( I hate Sunday's because of early mall closings!!

So we made our way over to Target!! I LOVE TARGET!!

There we got sunscreen for the trip, tooth paste, shampoo, and all that fun stuff. I would like to add that I hate buying diapers anymore!! So darn expensive!! If I had had a washing machine at the time, I would have cloth diapered! I also, snagged some cute Pj's for jack here, and cool halloween garb.. thing is, he wears it all year round!! I love Halloween time, as you can find loads of spidery, skeletony garb!! We are so punk rock..lol I also found a couple cute things for Kayla. I also purchased my first pair of sunglasses ever there! They are crappy, and way too big, but I've never worn sunglasses, so I figured I try these out before spending too much..right?

So that was the end of our shopping day. I'm sure I bought more and have not listed it, but you get the jist!

After all this shopping we decided to go to Chili's for dinner. I have never eaten there before. It was pretty ok.. not sure I would eat there again if there were other options though. They did have a nice size kids menu though, with lots of options for those with allergies like ds!

I hope my shopping trip blogging is all you wanted it to be lol!

Holy crap! It sounds like you guys hit the jackpot on your shopping trip!! :woohoo:

I still have a few more things to get yet. I still can't believe it's just three weeks away!

Jackpot..bankruptcy...eh... :lmao: Lifes too short.. it will get paid off eventually. It's not like we spent money on stuff we won't use beyond the trip!! Everything bought will be used for another 3+ years!

I love the clothes you picked up at Old Navy! I love trip shopping. I hit up Target last night myself. For years I had half-heartedly searched for cheap ponchos to bring to WDW and never found anything....Target had a ton of colorful ones for $1! I bought ten :rotfl: Yay Target!

I LOVE TARGET!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I find so many awesome(and cheap) clothes for my kids! They really make things kinda punk rock too!! It's all edgy, which looks so cute on dd and ds!! I also find shirts there for me! that fit!!:lmao: I didn't find ponchos, but I did find umbrellas! I should say I forgot to look for ponchos but I did remember the umbrellas!

As for old navy..oi.. I like the things I did get, but what i saw online and what i saw in the store were two different things!! They must have great photographers,, because the quality of the clothes was CRAP!! Looked nothing in the store like it did online. I hate that! But at least I was able to get some cool skull clothing!

Ok, so what I learned from this post.. go back to target and look for ponchos!!!!

So all of a sudden I wake up today with this nagging fear of my ADR's!!! Suddenly I feel like I have way too many, and some might suck and waste my time!! LTT is the one that is really bugging me as it is the day of MNSSHP!! It starts at 6:45 and MNSSHP starts at 7pm. I feel if I go I am missing out on valuable Halloween party time!!Here comes the 2nd part of my fear..fear of canceling it and missing out on an awesome experience!! I tried getting earlier ressies here, but no dice ;/

Ok, heres something else that has been nagging me HDDMR. I have ADr's for Saturday Sept 20, that I tried to get for monthssss!! But now I kinda want to cancel them and go out for a romantic dinner alone with DF (that day is his birthday). BUTTTTTT I don't want the kids to miss out on a really fun time. I've been trying to switch this dinner to Sunday the 21st, but again..no dice ;/

I'm also on the fence about 1900 park fare,Crystal Palace and breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, oh and Chef Mickey's. Again I feel like I'm wasting all this park time eating..but we love eating... I don't know what my prob is. In reality I really want to try these places, but I have read so many bad things about buffets that I am scared now!

I have to use these credits as I have the deluxe dining, and refuse to leave WDW without trying all the places I have always wanted to! I mean it is the reason I upgraded fee dining to deluxe!

Anywho, I am just having a mini freak out sesh and I am sure I will get over it, but I figured I'd blog on here and see what everyones opinions were. Thanks for listening(reading) to me ramble :):lovestruc

Hey there.........

Don't freak out! :scared1: It happens to all of us.:) I think that you should keep LTT. I don't think that you will miss much as the last 2 MNSSHP's that we attended (as well as the last PPP that we attended), they spent the first hour or so checking wristbands and getting people out of the park that didn't have them. Seems to me like the party got started around 7:30 - 8 and you will probably be done at LTT by then. We were in and out in less than an hour when we went....dunno, maybe we were lucky.

HDDMR was a lot of fun. My nephew still talks about it and that was several years ago, but I can see where you might want a romantic night out too. That would be a tough call for me because I can still see the look on Matt's face throughout the HDDMR.

We have never done 1900 or H&V for breakfast so I have no advice on those. We normally make our ADR's for Chef Mickey's really, really early (even when we had both my niece and nephew with us) so that we could be done with breakfast before rope drop. I know that's not always a good option but it seemed to work for us.

I think it will all work out fine for you. :wizard:

Isn't planning fun!?!?!!?!

Ok, I was able to snag a lil' bit earlier adr at LTT. i now have a 6:25 as opposed to 6:45, and I will show up even earlier than that and hopethey take us!!If what you say happens again, then we are allll good! I'm also thinking maybe we could switch to the new Diamond Horseshoe place, as from what I hear it is the same as LTT, just minus the characters. I posted on th restaurant board for opinions..I'll get back to you all on that lol

I should mention, our HDDMR adr's are for 5..so in actuality I have plenty of time to go out with DF afterwards, and we plan on it either way. I just really rather do HDDMR on sunday, and do a nice quiet romantic dinner alone on saturday. I suppose I should just be grateful that I even got adr's fr hddmr!!

Planning WAS fun, until the trip got closer and things became more clear! The original adr's I made were before I was a diser and made in the heat of the I have the deluxe dining plan moment. I made adr's just to make sure I had them. and didn't really stop to think if I should make sure they coinside with the parks we had planned for that day. Luckily I was able to switch almost all my ADR's to make it work smoothly. Just not HDDMR!!:lmao:

Thanks for all the advice!!

:goodvibes

I think it is getting close to time to go and so we doubt ourselves time.... I have been looking at mine and thinking I wonder if I should have done that or should I make this earlier or this later? I decided not to second guess myself and carry that dining number in my cell phone for in case of's. :cool1:

I have eaten at all the places you've listed and I'd have to say KEEP THEM! They are all great!!!! Don't be scared of the buffets, they're wonderful. 1900 Park Fare is by far the best buffet. I haven't done H&V for breakfast but the lunch was really good.

I agree with the previous poster about doubting ourselves. I always think I could have done it a little better. It's easy to second guess when you're sitting at home, but once you get there, it'll all be good :thumbsup2

I'm in the same pickle! It's just DS and I on this trip so I can eat where ever the heck I feel like it for once! But now I'm afraid to spend all our time eating . I just love the ire in planning my own Disney trip the way I want and not knowing what I want. DS is gonna have to suck it up and eat! It's not like we don't go every yr anyway.

OMG DH and I had some frozen Margarita's last year in Mexico and somehow we came home with this hat. We wore it all day at Epcot. The kids thought we were nuts but after we went to Garden Grill for Lunch and Chip and Dale made a big fuss it became "cool". :rotfl2: The only bad part...it left huge purple lines are around our heads!:lmao: Our foreheads looked bruised and beaten.

Now about your packing list - where would one find cheap ponchos for Disney when one refuses to shop at Wal*Mart? :rolleyes1

OMG another Wal Mart HATER! :woohoo: I despise the place with all the passion in my soul. When I go into a Wal-Mart I come home praying because I think that's really what hell will be like. It is HELL on Earth! Everyone kept telling me to check out this dollar tree? I think that was the name. Anyway, I went by the place last night and they had a bunch stuff. Ponchos were 2 in a bag for $1. :thumbsup2

I hate to admit this, but for a very brief amount of time I had to work at wal*mart... hence my hate for it!but good call on dollar tree, i always forget about them!

Yes! In fact, I am proud to say I have never been inside a Wal*Mart and I never will. One time I had to send DH in though...

All we gots is Target and the 99 Cents Only Stores, which are dirty and depressing.... :sad2: I'll have to go see if I can dig up a rain poncho in Los Angeles...:rotfl:

Another Wal Mart hater over here! We don't have them in NYC but they're within driving distance unfortunately. I refuse to buy anything there no matter how cheap it is. I do love Target though lol
