Ink Tag

DH went to put on a new sweatshirt that we bought at Downtown Disney.

They forgot to take off the ink tag.

Do you think if we take it to a Disney store, they will take it off for us? I am trying to find the receipt without any luck.

I don't know about the Disney store, but when I had a Penney's dress with that tag on, I just took it to customer service and they took care of it.

At my store we aren't allowed to take off any tags without the receipt, but good luck.

For some reason, I kept reading Ink Tank, couldn't figure out what you were talking about. Then I woke up more.

You could always call your local TDS and ask them.

Something similar happened to me once.......I took DD to the MOA & she bought a pair of Calvin Kein pants at MAcy's. We got all the way back to Michigan & realized that the ink tag was still on There aren't any Macy's stores here anywhere. I called them & they said I could ship the pants & the reciept to them & they' would remove it & return them. I had to ship them at my own expense and by the time they returned them she had had a growth spurt & out grown them

Hey, you can have them find the receipt for you. I'd call the store and have them fax the receipt to you so you can get the tag off. Just about any store would do it if all the numbers matched up.

You just need some info, like when you bought it and how much to give them something to look for. Also, they can research your credit card if you used it to to find the receipt.

If it's got the 'nipple' type back on the ink tag, then the Disney Store can't help. JC Penney's and Gap have those type of tag removers, and will do it with a receipt.

If not, call WDW merchandise (407-363-6200) and they will help you. I know that they will just ship you a new one sometimes.

Not all stores use the same type of ink tags. My DD received a shirt from her aunt that lives in Minneapolis for her birthday. It was from Bloomingdales. There were no Bloomingdales in Kansas City at the time. We took the shirt to store after store. Some of them didn't have the right type of device to remove the tag. Some were very leary because we didn't have a receipt. I finally found a store that had the right device. Since there were no Bloomingdales in Kansas City and I had this little girl staring at them with big blue eyes, they finally decided that we didn't look like crooks. They removed the tag. Moral to the story, I always watch very carefully to make sure that the clerks remove the tags when I buy an item. Good Luck!

Thia happened to me once when i was 12. bought a blouse very last minute for Christmas, got it and there was the tag. Since all the store were closed for Christmas i wound up having to wear it with the ink tag till i could get back to the store a few days later. Salesperson took it off for me, but wanted an explanation as to why it didn't set the store's alarm. Like i knew how that worked at the time. ( i do now though..many places use the ink tags for for show and the real security device is in the barcode on the tag)

Somewhat good news! WDW merchandising will do an exchange. I have to call them back with the item number.

Fortunately he will not outgrow it while we are waiting. I am at least glad that it was his and not a gift we purchased for someone else.

They said don't worry about the receipt.
