Last August when we were there with DS age five, DD - 20 months old woke up with a 103 fever and screaming incessantly. We took her to the Centra care clinic and ended upp paying $150 for a visit (our HMO wouldn't approve the out of network cost) Three days later, same fever, same miserable child and having seen none of Disney we were back at the clinic for a different antibiotic. That night we were in the ER with a baby with wheezing and hives - allergic reaction to the antibiotic. She needed steroids and did the bendaryl route, changed the antibiotics, and the day before we were supposed to leave she was no better! I took her back to the clinic who told me not to fly with this child - that she would scream and her eardrum would rupture because it was still so infected. She got an injection of antibiotics and we were stuck @ Disney for an extra week. We stayed at the All Stars, and swtiched to POFQ for the second week ( I was sick of the ASSp). Besides going about $800 over budget - between upgrading to AP's, food and the extra hotel costs it was a great time! The last laugh seems to be on us because we are going back again - where else can we go where the entertainment is already paid for (through the APs). Even though both front desks knew that we had a sick baby, no one gave us any special attention or help - not that we were expecting any. It was just so frusterating to be paying all that money for the vacation and to be stuck in a hotel room for a week. The worst part about the second week for us was that we had booked the vacation through Dreams Unlimited and had to do everything for the second week on or own because we didn't have any internet access (and couldn't find a phone #) to contact Dreams. Better luck this summer I hope!
