Initial Riviera Availability?

Saw most recent promo video with Fall 2019 opening... Was wondering how initial room availability will work for Riviera since there will be no 11 month booking window and no initial owners?

We don't know yet when DVC will begin taking reservations for the Riviera, but here is how DVC handled the initial reservation process for Copper Creek:

Copper Creek sales began on March 8, 2017 to existing DVC members and to new DVC members (no prior ownership) on April 5, 2017. The resort opened on July 17, 2017 (if you are a real Disney geek, you will know the significance of that day).

March 21, 2017: Existing Disney Vacation Club owners who add-on points at Copper Creek can begin booking up to 11 months in advance.

April 19, 2017: New DVC members (no prior ownership) who purchase at Copper Creek can begin booking up to 11 months in advance.

April 26. 2017: Reservations open to all DVC owners, subject to the normal 7 month window. On April 26, non-owners will have access to all available nights from the July 17 opening through November 26 (7 months from April 26.)

I've found it easier to get into new resorts when they first open because they declare points rooms in advance. After they are soldout, that's when it gets harder.

That's what we are hoping is the case... Plan to be there the first week of December. Not sure if it will be open yet but if so would love to even get one night there.

I was able to get into the Poly right after it opened for DVC members but it just happened to be right at a trip I had already planned. It was real easy for me to switch resorts once it opened but my timing just happened to align well.

We will not be adding on at the Rivera Resort but would like to stay there in December for SWGE. What are the chances of availability 7 months before December 2019?
