Any other DISers in New England running the Hartford marathon or half marathon tomorrow?

My sister and I are both running the half. It will be my second half, and the last one I do before the glass slipper challenge!

I did the half. It was my first half, and I wasn't happy with my time. Cramps in both legs by mile 8 will give you a terrible finish. I am having a hard time with my finish time. I finished in 3:30. I REALLY wanted 3 hours. :(

How did you do?

I ran the full. Had a great first half, did the march of death after mile 19. Ended up with a 40 minute marathon PR, and lots of regret.

Cramps during a race are the worst :(

But that is awesome that you finished your first one, even if it wasn't in the time you wanted!! I like to think of it as setting an easy PR to beat next time, haha.

It was my second half, and I took 7 minutes off my previous PR to finish in 2:03 so I was thrilled with that. I liked the course a lot and loved all the spectator support.

Congrats on finishing and getting a PR!!! This was the first full marathon I have attended (as a spectator) and it was so inspiring to watch people finish it.

What was your opinion of the race? It's on my short list for a fall full in 2014 and I'd appreciate the opinion of everyone who ran it.

Thanks.

I liked most of it. The first half was absolutely gorgeous. What I didn't like was the out and back between 13-21. It was okay going out, but coming back without shade for four miles was not fun at all.

I ran the 1/2 this weekend. My first time running this race. Thought it was a great race, got a PR by 8:02! :cool1: I was excited! I was a little intimidated at first because it was so large, but figured it would get me used to a big Disney race! On course support was awesome, so many people were out cheering. Love the water bottle and my shirt. Think I missed the after race bananas, but that's ok. Definately will do this race again next year. :thumbsup2

I also love the water bottle! I use it way more than I expected to!

Congratulations! Was it a challenging course? I met a few people the next day who had done it and said it was tough.

For the 1/2 part, I thought it was a fairly easy course. A few small hills, definately no big deal. Some of the sections were not so 'pretty' but that's ok.
