Information regarding DVD

Okay, have a couple of questions. We usually go to WDW every year and have stayed at a RCI timeshare property. Very spacious 2 bedroom and a 10 minute drive to Disney. My question is: How much does DVC actually cost? From reading the previous posts, I assume financing is available. Do not understand the points system. We usually stay for 7 days at the timeshare property with our two children. Would appreciate all the information and advice you can share with me. I just ordered my DVD for additional info on the DVD.

The minimum purchase price depends on how many points you buy, and where you buy them from. However, if you want a two bedroom for 7 days, you would be looking at a minimum 218 points (OKW lowest season) to 462 (BCV, BWV preferred/bw view, or VWL highest season). You can go to www.tagrel.com to see all the actual point requirements, or just wait until you get your video....there will be a book enclosed that will tell you as well.

Basically, the "points" system works like this....you buy a certain number of points, and you use those points anyway you like. Each night at a resort is "charged" a certain number of points depending on the size of the accomodation, the "season" and the day of the week (Fri and Sat are higher). When your "points" (allocated annually) are used up...you don't go anymore...unless you:

1) borrow from next year's points, or
2) add-on

If you choose not to go every year, you can "bank" one year's points into to the next year. And, if you find you need a "few more" one year, you can borrow from the next year's allotment of points.

Points are assigned a "home" resort, and those points can book at your home resort 11 months in advance. You can use those points at any resort 7 months in advance if there is availability.
